Actuarial Science Concentration
The Actuarial Science concentration? caters to career changers as well as students who would like to further their actuarial training. It condenses a comprehensive actuarial curriculum into just two years, with an emphasis on the theory and problem-solving skills that are key to passing actuarial exams, and the computational methods that are sought after in the job market. Most of our graduates get internships and full-time jobs as actuarial analysts in insurance companies and consulting firms.

In the public policy program you’ll learn the foundations of basic policy theory and research methods. As a public policy major, you’ll also examine how public policy is formulated, implemented, and evaluated over time, while you explore notions of agenda-setting and framing of issues that lead to a problem gaining the attention of the government.

Public Policy majors take courses dealing with public policy theories, processes, methods of public policy analysis, and important environmental and urban policy issues. Media and Cinema Studies
The Media and Cinema Studies concentration focuses on the critical skills, historical grounding, and research methodologies for understanding the cultural and social impact of film, television and digital media in our globalized society.

Our graduate seminar classes investigate current media-related topics through interdisciplinary perspectives including national and transnational media, film and media histories. The impact and potential of new technologies, the power of audiovisual media in society, the role of media in the formation of identities, aesthetics and popular culture, are also examined.

The Organizational Communication program explores effective and participatory communication across business and organizational settings.

As an organizational communication major you will learn how to think, speak and write clearly—and how to act as an ethical communicator with confidence. And you will also begin to understand the multicultural character of communication in contemporary workplaces and society through courses that blend theory and practice.
