Overview
The master's in Experience Design is an interdisciplinary program that prepares future experience designers by providing a foundation in design methods, research, and collaboration. Students learn to apply theoretical frameworks and research methods to understand systems, define problems, and communicate potential solutions and their impact. By working on collaborative projects with local communities, students learn to create design-based artifacts tied to human-centered problems in a chosen disciplinary area (e.g., web/mobile design, game design, learning design).

Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.
A student can participate in three types of Optional Practical Training (OPT):

The Bachelor of Arts in Data Science program offers a curriculum that focuses on developing analytical and technical skills necessary for analyzing massive amounts of data and extracting information from complex data sources.

DePaul’s Communication Studies program encourages you to think, speak and write clearly. Because communication involves interacting with others, the courses you’ll take as a Communication Studies major will teach you to communicate in a variety of public, small group and performance-style settings.
As a Communication Studies major, you’ll be encouraged to become an ethical communicator, to view events from multiple perspectives, to understand the multicultural influences of communication in today’s world and to question the basic problems of human communication in order to understand self, others and events.

The Secondary Education program prepares you to teach 9th through 12th grade in a variety of urban and suburban education settings, including public and private high schools. You can graduate with a State of Illinois license to teach designated subject-area content (listed below). The program also provides you an opportunity to receive a Diploma Year Program Award (IB certification) to teach in International Baccalaureate schools world-wide.
As part of the secondary education major, you’ll learn educational theories and effective teaching practices, including how to design and implement curriculum; participate in extensive field experiences at multiple schools, and student-teach for 10 weeks.

As a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or a Bachelor Science (BS) in Biological Sciences major, you’ll gain the knowledge and skills you need to succeed in a wide range of careers in science, research, education, health and other fields.
Inside and outside the classroom, you’ll learn to think independently and work collaboratively. Here, most faculty members direct their own research programs, giving you an opportunity to work on multiple research projects. Biological Sciences majors are encouraged to attend seminars and complete internships.
If you’re interested in pursuing a career in education, the Department of Biological Sciences also partners with the College of Education to award teaching degrees.

Our daily interactions with the Internet are ever-increasing in scale and complexity. What was once a packet delivery system mimicking a postal system is now an intricate multi-tiered structure of protocols and services. The ongoing development and survival of these services depends on our ability to adaptively address challenges such as securing our interactions, scaling with users and devices, and meeting the ever-changing expectations in Quality of Experience and Service Availability.
The unique MS Network Engineering and Security (NES) program at DePaul University delivers both the theory and practice behind the design and maintenance of these diverse network infrastructures. Students have access to extensive lab facilities using equipment from Cisco, Juniper, and other manufacturers. Our students get hands-on practice in configuring routers, switches, and firewalls, as well as securing networks, evaluating and managing their performance, and ensuring the they meet business requirements.

The Health Sciences major program will prepare you for a variety of healthcare professions by combining biomedical instruction with an understanding of how societal factors impact health. Whether you want to become a healthcare practitioner, administrator or policy-maker, you’ll learn how to solve health-related problems as part of a team.
As a Health Sciences major, you’ll choose one of two concentrations. The Bioscience concentration focuses on the scientific elements of an individual’s health, preparing you for a career in dentistry, medicine, nursing, pharmacy or physical therapy. The Bioscience - Accelerated Program is for qualified Health Sciences majors in the BioScience concentration who have been accepted into an accelerated 3+ College of Science and Health pre-professional program in conjunction with Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science (RFUMS). The Public Health Sciences concentration focuses on understanding the health care needs of populations, preparing you for a career in community health, health care administration, health communication and public health.
