The graduate music education program offers certified/licensed music teachers the opportunity to earn a master's degree in a little over two years with courses in the evenings and summers. Applied and Computational Mathematics Concentration
The Applied and Computational Mathematics concentration is intended for students seeking a career as quantitative analysts, computational scientists, or applied mathematicians, or for those planning to continue the study of applied mathematics at the doctoral level. Students pursuing this concentration are exposed to a variety of mathematical methods, models, and computational tools that find use in science, engineering, business, computer science, and industry.

As part of the Grace School of Applied Diplomacy at DePaul, our Master of Applied Diplomacy program unites traditional and non-traditional approaches to the field of diplomacy. Here, we know that the work of diplomacy is not limited to members of the foreign service, but practiced by members of non-governmental organizations, business people, scientists, and community organizers.

Diplomacy and Migration
The Diplomacy and Migration concentration provides students with a foundation for applying the tools and understanding of diplomatic practices--such as mediation, conflict resolution, advocacy and leadership—to the pressing challenges posed by forced migration. Students will have the opportunity to place the study and practice of diplomacy into conversation with the disciplines of history, forced migration studies, human rights law, public health, and international relations.

Core components of the entrepreneurship program include understanding the new business venture process, recognizing ethical issues within entrepreneurial businesses and communicating effectively to business stakeholders. The master's in Software Engineering provides students with skills that are widely applicable, highly in demand, and richly rewarded. Software engineering is a discipline concerned with the processes, methodologies, techniques, and tools of developing high-quality software systems in a cost-effective manner. The Software Engineering program emphasizes the best software engineering practices, current methodologies, emerging technologies, and their applications in various industries. It also emphasizes the development of communication and presentation skills in a team-based software development environment. The curriculum encompasses all important aspects of software engineering, including: requirements engineering, software architecture and design, software construction, software testing and quality assurance, software maintenance, and software project management.

Entrepreneurship and Technology Leadership
This concentration offers students with strong background in software development and a keen interest in business the opportunity to become entrepreneurs or business leaders in the software development industry. This concentration addresses the foundations and methodologies of software development combined with knowledge of business environment and finance to prepare for career paths in entrepreneurship or senior technology leadership positions in businesses.

Earn your master’s degree in History by exploring the breadth and depth of history with an emphasis on historiography. Historiography looks at how different scholars have approached a topic, what sources and methods they used to explore it, if there are any points of contention and how it has been viewed over time.

The World Language Education (WLE) program integrates education and language courses. Your foreign language education degree will prepare you to teach kindergarten through 12th grade in a variety of urban and suburban education settings, including public and private schools.

As part of this program, you will take language courses from the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and education courses from the College of Education. You will earn a BA from the College of Education, and concentrations are offered in Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish.

DePaul’s Early Childhood Education program will prepare you to teach and engage infants through second-graders in a variety of urban and suburban education settings. Early childhood educators teach in public and private preschools, elementary schools and child care centers.

As part of your Early Childhood Education degree program, you will learn educational theories and effective teaching practices and conduct research projects. You’ll be immersed in the real world through field experiences—which require you to observe and participate in teaching activities at multiple elementary schools and child care centers—and student teaching in classrooms around Chicago.
