As a Latin American and Latino Studies major, you’ll explore the cultural contributions of Latin Americans to the global community and the perspectives and traditions that have developed in the region.

Examine the multicultural relationship between peoples and cultures of Latin America, including indigenous, European, Semitic, Arab, Asian and African societies, and explore the profound linkage that has emerged between Latin America and the United States, particularly through the construction of Latino communities in the U.S.

Participate in one of DePaul’s Study Abroad programs in Nogales, Mexico; Mérida, Mexico; El Salvador; Chile or Argentina.

The Bilingual-Bicultural Education (MA) focuses on teaching and supporting language learners at all age levels. Make a direct impact on the academic and social lives of your students by more effectively incorporating theory, practice and cultural context into your classroom.

The Master of Social Work (MSW) program will prepare you for advanced social work, with attention to professional ethics, respect for human rights and recognition of the inherent dignity of all people. • The Community Practice concentration prepares you to lead human service organizations.
• The Forensic Social Work concentration prepares you for practice and advocacy in settings where human services and the legal system intersect.

The graduate jazz studies program provides students a comprehensive education in jazz, allowing students to specialize in either performance or composition. Drawing upon the resources of the Chicago jazz scene, faculty members are highly celebrated performers, teachers, composers, and arrangers. In addition to applied jazz lessons, jazz ensembles, and jazz combos, Master of Music students enroll in courses such as jazz theory, history, pedagogy, improvisation, composing, and/or arranging. Throughout the program, jazz students have multiple opportunities to record performances and compositions in professional recording studios.

The Sports Communication program will prepare you for career opportunities in the sports industry. As you work towards your degree in Sports Communication, you’ll learn to view sports as a business, and how companies and sports organizations communicate and manage relationships with their fans, sponsors and the media.

As a Sports Communication major, you’ll take College of Communication and Driehaus College of Business courses, which will provide you with interdisciplinary knowledge and skills that link communication and business theory.

Living in Chicago, you’ll have access to world class media and global sports organizations such as the Bears, Blackhawks, Bulls, Cubs and White Sox. During coursework for your degree in Sports Communication, you’ll be introduced to a vast array of sports communication pros, many of whom are DePaul alums and can help you gain valuable internship experience.

In DePaul’s flexible master’s in Writing and Publishing, you have the unique opportunity to study across genres and develop and revise your work under the mentorship of acclaimed authors and poets. The MS in Information Systems (IS) bridges the gap between business and IT. Business organizations are most interested in serving customers with the best products and services.
