The Women’s and Gender Studies degree program focuses on examining women’s and men’s identities and experiences in relation to gender, race, class and culture. Its curriculum addresses issues of power and resistance and connects feminist theories and research to public policy and social justice.

Classes focus on feminist and social justice theory with an emphasis on agency, social responsibility, advocacy and activism. You’ll develop strong writing and critical thinking skills and learn to make connections between theory and real-world practice.

The Japanese Studies program focuses on Japanese language, literature and culture. More than 130 million people speak Japanese across the world. You will explore Japanese culture and society through an interdisciplinary approach.

Fluency in Japanese and an understanding of Japanese culture will prepare you for professional success in for a variety of careers, such as business, arts, diplomacy, media and education.

As a Japanese major, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in DePaul’s Study Abroad programs in programs in Kyoto, Nagoya or Osaka, where you’ll strengthen your linguistic skills and become immersed in Japanese culture.

Our MS in Speech-Language Pathology program will prepare you to become a speech-language pathologist (SLP) who treats all aspects of communicative and swallowing disorders across the life span (children through adults), including the following:

• Fluency
• Receptive and expressive language
• cognitive aspects of communication (attention, memory, sequencing, problem solving, executive functioning)
• Voice and resonance ( including respiration and phonation)
• Speech sound production
• Augmentative and alternative communication
• Hearing (including the impact on speech and language)
• Swallowing
• Social aspects of communication

You’ll take classes that will focus on:

• basic science courses
• specific communication and swallowing disorders
• research methods
• clinical coursework, which includes 400 hours of supervised clinical experience

Here, you’ll gain critical thinking, problem solving and interpersonal skills you need to become an independent clinical practitioner. You’ll be trained to work in a variety of settings, including schools, hospitals, clinics and private practice.

The data science master’s will provide you with the technical knowledge and advanced computational skills to meet emerging challenges in big data analytics. Marketing
Some courses are available online. The Marketing concentration is designed for data science master’s students who want to combine strong technical skills in analytics with competency in marketing analytics and customer relationship management. You’ll learn how to extract information from data to support business decision making and marketing decisions.

The master's in Product Innovation and Computing is offered by the College of Computing and Digital Media with some course work taken from the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business (KGSB). This STEM degree incorporates the innovation and entrepreneurship processes with computer science, and allows students in the program to recognize broader issues in technology-related problems and understand the business constraints affecting this technology.

From Kant to Mann to Merkel, dive into canonical texts or explore modern German culture and language. The flexible MA in German is ideal for both those who wish to pursue careers in translation, teaching or cultural institutions and for those who are preparing for an academic career.

Earn your graduate accounting degree and complete the additional credits to qualify for the CPA exam with the master’s in Audit and Advisory Services. You’ll gain practical, advanced auditing skills to excel in a career in a public accounting firm or corporate internal audit department.

Higher Education Administration Concentration
For managers in post-secondary institutions of learning, this concentration teaches necessary analytical and managerial skills. The coursework helps students develop an understanding of management principles, policy analysis, and research within higher education. Electives provide opportunities to explore leadership, governance, strategic planning, budgeting, finance, law, diversity, enrollment management, marketing, student affairs, and politics in higher education.

The World Language Education (WLE) program integrates education and language courses. Your foreign language education degree will prepare you to teach kindergarten through 12th grade in a variety of urban and suburban education settings, including public and private schools.

As part of this program, you will take language courses from the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and education courses from the College of Education. You will earn a BA from the College of Education, and concentrations are offered in Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish.
