The Mathematical Finance concentration is a track for mathematically-inclined students who would like to pursue a quantitative career in Finance. The coursework focuses on the theoretical foundations of Finance as well as the concrete application of financial modeling, using sophisticated tools and techniques such as stochastic differential equations, copulas and extreme value theory. Students completing this concentration will be well-equipped to work as quantitative analysts.

The MS in Cybersecurity is intended for students who wish to specialize in the security aspects of the Information Technology field. This program educates professionals for the fast growing and wide ranging information security and cybersecurity markets by providing foundations in the theory of information security as well as knowledge needed to properly design, implement, and manage secured IT infrastructure and risks in an enterprise. Networking and Infrastructure
The Network Security concentration focuses on the network infrastructure and network security management aspects of information security. The Secondary Education program prepares you to teach 9th through 12th grade in a variety of urban and suburban education settings, including public and private high schools. You can graduate with a State of Illinois license to teach designated subject-area content (listed below). The program also provides you an opportunity to receive a Diploma Year Program Award (IB certification) to teach in International Baccalaureate schools world-wide.

As part of the secondary education major, you’ll learn educational theories and effective teaching practices, including how to design and implement curriculum; participate in extensive field experiences at multiple schools, and student-teach for 10 weeks.

This concentration offers students with prior experience in software development the opportunity to sharpen their skill set and broaden their knowledge base in software development. This concentration addresses the management and design of large-scale software systems with a focus on critical technical decisions with global impacts on large systems. Students will be exposed to the unique challenges, issues, and methods in dealing with the architectural aspect of complex and large-scale software systems. Students in this concentration will be prepared to take technical leadership roles in software development teams that are responsible for large-scale software projects.
