The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) is a liberal arts degree intended for students planning professional careers in chemistry-related professions. The Department of Physics offers undergraduate programs leading to both BS and BA degrees. The Bachelor of Arts program offers a specialization in physics to students desiring a general cultural education. The BPSA degree in the School of Public Administration is ideal for professionals and pre-professionals interested in police, fire, and disaster response practice and administration. The 18 core credit hours and 60 total credit hours provide:

• A professional/ pre-professional degree program for students entering the fields of law enforcement, homeland security, and disaster response;
• Interested students a foundation for continuing in a professionally focused graduate program; and
• An interdisciplinary degree that allows students to combine key areas from several disciplines to graduate with a pre-professional degree.

For Students interested in law enforcement, terrorism-response, administrative application of the law and corrections, we recommended the Law Enforcement & Corrections concentration.

Management Information Systems (MIS) is a discipline and a profession that brings information and communication technologies to businesses and society. By applying information and communications technologies and systems, MIS solves real business problems and gives competitive advantage to firms. MIS focuses on the concepts and tools necessary for analyzing, designing, planning, developing, and managing organizational information resources.

MIS emphasizes management and looks at applications and technological products as part of a system. MIS graduates have a systems perspective and business processes in mind. They are service oriented and able to communicate client needs to IT staff. They are educated in people skills, project management, and teamwork experience. Although entry level positions are similar to those earned by computer science graduates, MIS graduates are more likely to move into managerial positions overseeing and directing the design and development of systems solutions for companies.

The Studio Art Program offers diverse and challenging programs of study that emphasize the development of each student’s intellectual and artistic vision and goals. The program is dedicated to preparing practicing studio artists to participate in a dynamic art world. Students are given rigorous training in the foundations of art, as well as in ways to explore new and innovative questions, theories and ideas that drive art today. Majors are expected to explore the variety and breadth of contemporary art practice. These concentrated studio and seminar experiences are supplemented with field trips, visiting artist lectures, and critiques in order to help students begin to develop their own interests and projects as artists. At the advanced levels, students benefit from evaluation in individual and group critique sessions of their work, seminars, field trips, guest artists, lectures by curators and critics, and exhibition opportunities.
