Teaching (Chemistry - Teaching)
If the teaching field is your path, you'll gain an excellent background in chemistry as well as the educational knowledge you need to prepare for your own students. Chemistry teachers are in demand. Our students are regularly recruited. They move on to be educational administrators - headmasters, principals, and assistant principals.

Explore the dimensions of a boundless discipline. Study some of the physical world’s most inscrutable mysteries and examine the laws of motion and energy inherent in everything we do. Our physics program will feed your curiosity and sharpen your analytical abilities.

By studying film production at Lipscomb, you’ll learn the art of storytelling and how to express your original ideas on screen, in an environment that emphasizes collaboration, compassion and care for individuals and communities around the world. You’ll plan, crew and shoot projects, sharpen your screenwriting skills and learn the business, both its history and specific application. In fact, the U.S. Department of Labor projects that the employment growth of social workers will grow 16 percent from 2016 to 2026. According to the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration, social workers are the nation’s largest group of mental health providers. And, over 40 percent of all disaster mental health volunteers trained by the Red Cross are social workers.

Forensic Science Emphasis (Chemistry major - applied)
You'll be well connected to alumni in the field of forensic sciences. What we teach will qualify you to work in a crime laboratory, or get a job in drug testing. You'll be in an ideal situation in Nashville; one of the scientific employers here is a national industry leader in drug analysis. And with the opportunity to take electives in political science, psychology or Law, Justice and Society, this emphasis provides a well-rounded education.

Now more than ever, there is a need for professionals who are just, wherever they may be.  We know you want to change the world. So we've created a program to help you build a foundation in justice so you can do exactly that. We know legal change is one of the best ways to effect social change, so we'll make sure you gain a strong understanding of America's legal system. Work with a prominent civil rights attorney in Tuskegee, Alabama. You'll visit Washington, D.C. for an introduction of American law. Learn from real-life experiences with an internship. Take a semester abroad. And later, you'll even travel to five European countries as you learn about law in the global community.

Green Chemistry Emphasis (Chemistry major - applied)
Our green chemistry emphasis is one of the few curricula in the U.S. at the undergraduate level. With it you’ll find new, safer, and more efficient ways to perform chemical reactions.

Sure, two plus two is four. But if you’re here, you’re probably interested in exploring what’s beyond math’s basics. And your options are endless: statistics, calculus, geometry, abstract algebra, topology, differential equations and many more! Dig deeper into the incredible body of knowledge that constitutes mathematics by earning your degree in the field.
