And lower mortality rates, fewer medication errors and positive outcomes are an outcome of nurses prepared at the baccalaureate level (AACN, Oct. 2017).

Investigate the workings of the natural world, building a deeper understanding of bioscience and a deeper appreciation for the processes of life. Assess the theoretical implications of the field from a philosophical perspective while remaining grounded in scientific knowledge.

Explore the complex relationships between ethics and biology. You’ll debate about subjects like informed consent, medical confidentiality, and allocation of resources, as well as hot topics like euthanasia and abortion. Consider the set of moral principles that medical professionals are faced with every day.

You’ll work with the best and brightest of our biology, chemistry and philosophy faculty to gain a comprehensive knowledge of the history, psychology, theory and science that revolves around the field of bioscience, specifically as it relates to health and medicine. Our green chemistry emphasis is one of the few curricula in the U.S. at the undergraduate level. With it you’ll find new, safer, and more efficient ways to perform chemical reactions.

We know legal change is one of the best ways to effect social change, so we'll make sure you gain a strong understanding of America's legal system. Work with a prominent civil rights attorney in Tuskegee, Alabama. You'll visit Washington, D.C. for an introduction of American law. Learn from real-life experiences with an internship. Take a semester abroad. And later, you'll even travel to five European countries as you learn about law in the global community.

The Health and Physical Education teaching degree prepares students to deliver quality health education and physical education to young people in grades K-12. The courses were all designed to follow best practices for preparing excellent teachers who are passionate about the health and fitness of our youth.

The mission of the Exercise Science Program is to prepare entry-level Exercise Science professionals in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills) and affective (behavior) learning domains by integrating Christian faith and practice with academic excellence.  The Program will provide students with the didactic and experiential foundation in the study of human physiology and movement necessary to succeed whether pursuing a career, a professional field of study or engaging in advanced academic work. This mission is achieved through classroom lectures and hands-on laboratory instruction, scholarship, and service-learning opportunities designed to promote and develop critical thinking and effective communication skills.
