Physics teaching majors will receive core and specialized professional education in addition to the general education required of secondary and K-12 teacher education students.

Building: it’s what civil engineers do. Skyscrapers, bridges, roads, fresh water systems and wastewater treatment plants are all designed and constructed with the input of civil engineers. This process, though continually evolving, is one that has been revered since ancient times, and engineers remain a cornerstone of society.

Study everything civil engineering encompasses: structural, environmental, geotechnical, hydraulic and more. The political science program is dedicated to producing wise leaders and responsible citizens. Politics is society in action as it makes choices and shapes priorities. Our students enjoy the chance to witness and participate in local and state government here in Nashville, Tennessee's state capital. The Washington Seminar allows them an inside look at our national policy process and on-site visits to places no tourist goes. Many students use their Global Learning semester abroad to travel and study internationally, which they integrate into our International Affairs major.

We have pledged ourselves to making politics and citizenship accessible to all Lipscomb students. The Great Ideas in Politics general education curriculum serves our students' need to know the ideas and habits of citizenship. Our 39-hour major allows students to finish in three years or to add the political science major to their primary field of study.

We've been doing experiential learning in the sciences since before it was cool. And with guidance from our expert faculty, you'll take advantage of rich opportunities to investigate the basis for life. We will help you prepare for a career in the life sciences: think clinical or biomedical research, or other graduate programs in the allied health professions. You'll face challenges in this program as you learn the cellular mechanisms underlying human physiology, genetics and disease.  You won't be alone. And grow in the Spirit with a special Bible course where you'll visit the Amish and also learn about the German Christian resistance in World War II.  You'll interact with important figures in German life, from business and politics to the music industry, international relations and education. The global learning experience you receive here will provide you the confidence you need as a K-12 teacher or a business professional.
