Many of our applied biochemistry graduates are flourishing medical doctors, dentists, pharmacists or physician assistants. There's no capstone required for our biochemistry majors. But most of our students take part in undergraduate research at Lipscomb, at major research universities — or both. It's common for graduates of both of our biochemistry degrees to get into recognized research universities and medical schools across the U.S. Whatever your goals are, we'll help you get there.

We've been doing experiential learning in the sciences since before it was cool. And with guidance from our expert faculty, you'll take advantage of rich opportunities to investigate the basis for life. We will help you prepare for a career in the life sciences: think clinical or biomedical research, or other graduate programs in the allied health professions. You'll face challenges in this program as you learn the cellular mechanisms underlying human physiology, genetics and disease.  You won't be alone. Your 12 Global Learning credits will be applied to the major, fulfilling a core part of the coursework for this major. International Affairs integrates your language training, travels, and Lipscomb education. Further courses in political science and history will complement your experiences and broaden your knowledge base.

Take advantage of our study abroad program in the heart of Europe — Vienna, Austria. And grow in the Spirit with a special Bible course where you'll visit the Amish and also learn about the German Christian resistance in World War II.  You'll interact with important figures in German life, from business and politics to the music industry, international relations and education.
