Now more than ever, there is a need for professionals who are just, wherever they may be.  We know you want to change the world. So we've created a program to help you build a foundation in justice so you can do exactly that. We know legal change is one of the best ways to effect social change, so we'll make sure you gain a strong understanding of America's legal system. Work with a prominent civil rights attorney in Tuskegee, Alabama. You'll visit Washington, D.C. for an introduction of American law. Learn from real-life experiences with an internship. Take a semester abroad. And later, you'll even travel to five European countries as you learn about law in the global community.

Perhaps more than ever, there’s a need for reliable news sources throughout our world. Professional storytellers are needed — and we can help you become one. Learn to tell stories as a part of a traditional newsroom, as a freelancer in new environments or as a writer for broadcast, online and print outlets. You will learn how to create documentaries and videos, produce interactive media content, and write in captivating ways.

Our graduates boast a 96 percent placement rate in the field, and that begins here. Our experienced faculty will guide and mentor you, so that you can create experiences tailored to your interests. You will have the opportunity to work for Lumination Network, our in-house, student news organization. You will have access to state-of-the art equipment and up-to-date software for editing and producing. You will learn to be an adaptable professional in an ever-changing field.

We've been doing experiential learning in the sciences since before it was cool. And with guidance from our expert faculty, you'll take advantage of rich opportunities to investigate the basis for life. We will help you prepare for a career in the life sciences: think clinical or biomedical research, or other graduate programs in the allied health professions. You'll face challenges in this program as you learn the cellular mechanisms underlying human physiology, genetics and disease.  You won't be alone. According to the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration, social workers are the nation’s largest group of mental health providers. And, over 40 percent of all disaster mental health volunteers trained by the Red Cross are social workers.

Our program sets itself apart by being distinctly Christian - with a plethora of research opportunities. We provide flexible emphases for our applied chemistry major, from computer science or mathematics to business, green chemistry, environmental chemistry and forensic science.

Teaching (Chemistry - Teaching)
If the teaching field is your path, you'll gain an excellent background in chemistry as well as the educational knowledge you need to prepare for your own students. Chemistry teachers are in demand. Our students are regularly recruited. They move on to be educational administrators - headmasters, principals, and assistant principals.

Investigate the workings of the natural world, building a deeper understanding of bioscience and a deeper appreciation for the processes of life. Assess the theoretical implications of the field from a philosophical perspective while remaining grounded in scientific knowledge.

Explore the complex relationships between ethics and biology. You’ll debate about subjects like informed consent, medical confidentiality, and allocation of resources, as well as hot topics like euthanasia and abortion. Consider the set of moral principles that medical professionals are faced with every day.

You’ll work with the best and brightest of our biology, chemistry and philosophy faculty to gain a comprehensive knowledge of the history, psychology, theory and science that revolves around the field of bioscience, specifically as it relates to health and medicine. Emerge from the program as a conscientious, informed researcher or scientist.

As the ability to converse in Spanish is increasing in importance in the U.S. and worldwide, it's no secret that with a background in this language, you'll be better equipped for your profession — and for service. Our Spanish Teaching degree combines the best of two worlds: our respected education program and a course of study involving language, geography and literature. We teach our classes in Spanish to prepare you for a career where you, as a teacher, will do the same.

The Health and Physical Education teaching degree prepares students to deliver quality health education and physical education to young people in grades K-12. The courses were all designed to follow best practices for preparing excellent teachers who are passionate about the health and fitness of our youth.

Green Chemistry Emphasis (Chemistry major - applied)
Our green chemistry emphasis is one of the few curricula in the U.S. at the undergraduate level. With it you’ll find new, safer, and more efficient ways to perform chemical reactions.

Contribute your vision to the world. Learn the foundations and practice of animation, from character design to top-end computer graphics and 3D graphics. At Lipscomb, you'll grow your creative skills under some of the most prominent animators in the U.S., including Tom Bancroft and John Pomeroy. You’ll connect with and learn from experts in Maya software, the industry standard in computer graphics and CGI effects. You’ll even have the option of taking on opportunities in Los Angeles — our department’s Los Angeles internship program as well as a yearly trip to work at an animation studio there.
