LIU Post is one of the few programs in the country that offers entry-level bachelor’s degree in radiologic technology and has been a provider of education in diagnostic imaging since 1973. Radiologic technologists operate x-ray and digital imaging machines, digital mammography equipment, computed tomography (CT scan) machines, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to provide physicians with images of the skeletal system, organs, tissues and other vessels of the body—important diagnostic tests that help doctors detect and treat illness and injury. The B.S. in Radiologic Technology is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).

Our B.S. in Finance is powerful and practical. It affords a versatility that enables you to find work across nearly any industry and business size—from startups to nonprofits to government agencies to global corporations.

You will learn how to raise capital for corporations, as well as how to invest capital in real projects and securities such as stocks and bonds.

As a student, you will explore the pillars of the financial industry, including economic policy, commercial and investment banking, capital markets, global debt, private equity and venture capital, investments and portfolio optimization, corporate governance standards, securities regulation, and ethics.

The 120-credit Bachelor of Science degree in Childhood Education/Early Childhood prepares you to become a knowledgeable, caring and inspiring teacher of childhood and early childhood education from infants and toddlers to children who are in the first through sixth grades.

In pursuing your undergraduate degree, you will examine theories of child development, motivation and learning for youngsters ranging from infants to Grade 6. You will master the skills needed to encourage students to learn new material and to take responsibility for themselves and one another. As you work toward this degree you will gain an understanding and appreciation of subjects ranging from science to music to language arts. You also will acquire techniques to assess and evaluate a child’s intellectual, social and physical development and learn the basic principles of classroom management for a diverse student population. The program will culminate in a semester-long student teaching experience that will allow you to practice your new skills in a classroom setting. This degree qualifies you for two New York State Initial Teaching Certification.

After you complete all degree requirements, successfully pass New York State Licensure tests (EAS, CST and edTPA) and you have completed all required teacher certification workshops, you will be awarded Initial teaching certification by the New York State Department of Education (NYSED) in Childhood and Early Childhood Education.

The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater Arts with a concentration in Acting provides personalized and intensive classroom instruction and stage experience to prepare students for acting careers. Students receive a rigorous grounding in history, literature, theories and methodologies of classical and contemporary theatre arts, and work with professional actors and playwrights. Students also have a variety of opportunities to perform in main stage productions directed by renowned New York City directors. The 120-credit program is selective and acceptance into the program requires an audition.

The acting concentration draws from the Suzuki, Stanislavsky, Chekhov and Linklater techniques. The core program, taught by professional theatre artists, emphasizes development of a riveting stage presence based on dynamic physicality, emotional authenticity and a commanding voice. Students receive individual and ensemble training in television and film acting, singing and dancing from artists of national and international renown.

Convenient evening classes enable you to pursue your degree at your own pace, either full- or part-time. The 120-credit Bachelor of Science in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology will prepare you for a career helping people of all ages overcome communication disorders—from young children who stutter to stroke victims struggling to speak again.

Along with a comprehensive liberal arts education, the curriculum offers coursework in normal and disordered communication. Students observe adults and children with speech and/or language disorders in community-based settings. A limited field-based experience may also be available to qualified students. Graduates of this program are ready to advance to master’s-level study and work toward a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing-Association, as well as New York State licensure and certification as a Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD).

The Bachelor of Arts degree program in Criminal Justice is designed to meet the demands for professionals working in policing, corrections, prosecution and pretrial services, probation, parole, juveniles, public safety, victim services, civil and family courts, homeland security, international security, and other related fields. In addition to our core curriculum, which thoroughly explores the theory and practice of the criminal justice system, you can choose from elective courses that focus on a particular area of interest. The curriculum will expose you to the latest trends in theory and technology that impact criminal justice.

The Master of Public Administration degree, with a specialization in Public Administration, prepares you for a wide range of managerial and leadership positions in local, state and national government. This 42-credit program examines both practical and theoretical problems and challenges in the field, provides opportunities to improve your administrative skills, and prepares you for increasing levels of responsibility and management in public service.

The Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising and minor program offer students unique access to the exciting, high-powered fashion industry.

Instructed by industry experts, the Fashion Merchandising curriculum integrates an experiential learning component through our student-run clothing boutique, The Student Body, where you will contribute to the retail store’s success by helping to choose inventory, manage operations, and advertise to the campus community. Secure internship positions at top locations such as Long Island’s luxurious Americana Manhasset shopping center and other top destinations.

As a Film major, you will learn to communicate and interpret the world around you through courses in all levels of production, editing, screenwriting, cinematography, sound, producing, and film history.

Beginning in your first semester, you will get hands-on experience working with traditional and digital film equipment and exploring all forms of narrative and documentary storytelling. The comprehensive, widely respected film curriculum prepares students for creative, critical, and technical work in the worlds of film, television, and digital media. In addition, you will study a well-rounded liberal arts foundation that will help develop proficiency in areas of human development: self-discipline, self-motivation, creative thinking, critical analysis, collaboration as part of a group, and leadership in a group.
