LIU Global offers a BA degree in Global Studies, a discipline that investigates the world’s interdependent political, economic, cultural, and ecological systems. Global Studies equips future leaders with tools to address challenges that transcend national and disciplinary boundaries, preparing them to develop solutions at the local, national, regional, and global levels. LIU Global organizes its curriculum around six issues that pose the greatest challenges to human wellbeing:

• Economic inequality, poverty, and access to livelihoods
• Social inequality: gender, race, ethnicity, and human development
• Climate change, clean energy, and environmental degradation
• Urbanization and sustainable human settlements
• War, conflict, and displaced peoples
• Justice, discrimination, and human rights

LIU Global teaches students how these challenges take different forms in different locations, thereby developing skills in adaptation and empathy as each locale articulates the particularity of its engagement with these issues. By addressing each issue through multiple lenses, students gain the skills in analysis and problem-solving that these complex challenges demand. Four lenses make up the core of LIU Global’s analytical method:

The Bachelor of Science in Data Analytics (BSDA) will prepare students for the growing demand in industries for data-literate professionals who can understand and perform data analytics and apply the knowledge in decision-making in various practical fields. In addition to the common core curriculum, the upper-division coursework innovatively consists of the following modules:

• Foundational Module: programming in Python, Data Analytics with Excel, R, and Python, Data Structures and Algorithms
• Core Module: Database Management, Data Visualization, Advanced Statistics, Data Mining and Business Intelligence, Machine Leaning, Intro to AI
• Applied Module: Data Analytics Ethics, Intro to Fintech, Intro to Modern Cryptography, Computational Genomics, Deep Learning, and Capstone Project
• Elective Module: elective courses can be taken in other programs such as Accounting, Artificial Intelligence, Business Administration, Computer Science, Digital Engineering, Entrepreneurship, Fashion Merchandising, Finance, Marketing, and Sports Management

The BSDA is a STEM designated degree program. The core faculty in the program all hold their Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Economics, or Operation Research from top-tier research universities, with extensive industry and research experience at Amazon, National Science Foundation, the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine, and Wall Street and Main Street firms.

The Master of Public Administration degree, with a specialization in Public Administration, prepares you for a wide range of managerial and leadership positions in local, state and national government. This 42-credit program examines both practical and theoretical problems and challenges in the field, provides opportunities to improve your administrative skills, and prepares you for increasing levels of responsibility and management in public service.

 Founded in 1974, the School of Professional Accountancy holds the proud distinction of being the first autonomous school of professional accountancy in the nation. The curriculum qualifies students to sit for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) examination in New York State.

Behavior analysis is a well-developed approach to solving social/emotional, behavioral, and learning problems for many different populations in many different settings. The Department of Psychology's master's program in Behavior Analysis focuses on the experimental, theoretical, methodological, and analysis of behaviors of individuals and how these behaviors denote different types of learning processes or problems. The processes of behavior analysis are used most widely with clinical populations in the area of developmental disabilities, including but not limited to clients diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum and/or intellectually impaired.

To prepare the workforce of the future, the 30- credit M.S. in Artificial Intelligence (AI) aims to educate and train skilled leaders to create AI applications and AI systems that are designed to solve complex real-world challenges and problems across many industry domains. The purpose of the program is to achieve this latter goal while addressing the emerging needs of the market. Additionally, the new program, with its faculty and students, aims to accelerate multidisciplinary research and discovery in LIU emerging signature areas: health, pharmaceutics, pharmacological engineering, bioinformatics, and business among others. The program will create new opportunities for research and economic development.

The prestigious Roosevelt School’s Bachelor of Arts in International Relations & Diplomacy prepares graduates for domestic and international leadership positions. The International Relations and Diplomacy’s vibrant curriculum engages students in a comprehensive examination of international politics, negotiation and leadership. Coursework is supplemented by internships at renowned institutions, including the United Nations, for a richer understanding of international affairs. These educational and occupational experiences will prepare you for positions with multinational corporations, private foundations, think tanks, non-profit organizations and government agencies, and are excellent preparation for graduate study.

The program is committed to developing a new generation of genetic counselors with the knowledge and skill to help patients make the best decisions. With a diverse, interdisciplinary academic and clinical faculty, the two-year program is geared toward students who desire a rigorous and comprehensive training in the field of clinical genetics. The program emphasizes the scientific, clinical and psychosocial aspects of genetic counseling. Skills learned through classroom-based didactics pave the way for students to enter their clinical rotations for “real-world” training. Additionally, a number of supplementary activities ensure that students will be exposed to non-traditional careers in genetic counseling along with traditional, clinic-based careers.

In the Department of Criminal Justice, undergraduate and graduate programs are designed to meet the constant demand for law enforcement and criminal justice professionals. Our programs also provide an excellent pathway toward the study of law.

Our core curriculum thoroughly explores the theory and practice of the criminal justice system. But you will customize your study through elective courses that focus on a particular area of interest. Our full-time faculty is an internationally renowned group of academic professionals, and our adjunct professors are working criminal justice professionals, including attorneys, judges and law enforcement officials.

Our B.S. in Finance is powerful and practical. It affords a versatility that enables you to find work across nearly any industry and business size—from startups to nonprofits to government agencies to global corporations.

You will learn how to raise capital for corporations, as well as how to invest capital in real projects and securities such as stocks and bonds.

As a student, you will explore the pillars of the financial industry, including economic policy, commercial and investment banking, capital markets, global debt, private equity and venture capital, investments and portfolio optimization, corporate governance standards, securities regulation, and ethics.
