The finance curriculum includes core courses in finance that provide students with a background in security analysis and investments, portfolio management, and financial planning and analysis. The curriculum also covers monetary policy, banking, financial markets, financial reporting, statement analysis, and risk management.

Within this program, you’ll gain a broad understanding of finance and may select finance electives in their area of interest such as insurance, real estate, accounting, or expand their knowledge in investments or financial analysis. Economics
The economics major is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in the theory and applications of economics in preparation for their chosen profession.

What Will I Learn
Within this program, you’ll gain a broad understanding of economics. You’ll be able to demonstrate an understanding of contemporary economic theories and policy considerations in a domestic and international context. In addition, demonstrate the ability to identify relevant (valid, reliable, and important) information to the issue being studied.

The mission of the Mathematics Program at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is to increase the knowledge and use of mathematics by persons both at the University and in the surrounding area. We strive to educate students at the university so that they are prepared to use mathematics intelligently in their chosen fields of study and to understand mathematics as it affects their lives and participation in public affairs.

The mathematics program provides its majors and graduate students with preparation for careers in education, science, and commerce, as well as providing a solid foundation for further study in mathematics. In support of the graduate program, the mathematics faculty pursues scholarship in mathematics, applications of mathematics, and instruction in mathematics. Political Science

Within this program, you will gain critical thinking skills including, creative thinking, innovation, inquiry and analysis, evaluation, and synthesis of information. You will also demonstrate communication skills including, the effective development, interpretation, and expression of ideas through written, oral, and visual communication. Music
Our program offers performance opportunities via a wide array of ensembles which are open to all university students, including university orchestra, symphonic and concert bands, pep band, jazz band, university singers, Camerata Isla (chamber choir), and Corpus Christi Chorale. Music majors also participate in chamber ensembles including string quartet, various woodwind and brass ensembles, percussion ensemble, guitar ensemble, and more.

Philosophy
Philosophy is quite unlike any other field. It is unique both in its methods and in the nature and breadth of its subject matter. It is a reasoned pursuit of fundamental truths, a quest for understanding, a study of principles of conduct. It seeks to establish standards of evidence, to provide rational methods of resolving conflicts, and to create techniques for evaluating ideas and arguments. Philosophy develops the capacity to see the world from the perspective of other individuals and other cultures; it enhances one's ability to perceive the relationships among the various fields of study; and it deepens one's sense of the meaning and variety of human experience.

Criminal Justice
This program has two main objectives: to provide an advanced understanding of the criminal justice system and its components and to provide either a concentration of knowledge and application of skills in a specialized subfield of study or a broad exploration of the discipline-based on individual student needs through the selection of disciplinary electives.

Within this program, you will demonstrate an understanding of the operation and purposes of the major components of the criminal justice system (police, courts, and corrections). You’ll also demonstrate the ability to critically analyze the criminal justice system and its aims and objectives. General Business
This program of study provides a broad-based business background for those persons who are interested in a business career but do not wish to specialize in a specific functional area. The general business curriculum includes a study of various business disciplines that provides a broader competency base for those who may want to work in or to manage small businesses or selected not-for-profit organizations. This major provides a background for entry-level work in a broad range of businesses. An on campus format provides a mix of online, face-to-face, and blended courses. An online completion format provides 60 hours of online courses.

What Will I Learn
Within this program, you’ll gain a broad-based understanding of business. In addition, all general business majors will demonstrate knowledge of key international business theories and concepts, and will apply these international business theories and concepts correctly.

The Department of Art + Design offers 4 undergraduate degrees. Each degree is unique and requires different hours, credits and electives.

• Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art
• Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design
• Bachelor of Fine Arts
• Bachelor of Fine Arts with Teaching Certification
• The College of Liberal Arts also requires at least 6 semester hours of a second language for the Bachelor of Arts degree in Art.

The Bachelor of Arts degree with major study in art is a general program in art. The degree requires a minimum of 51 semester hours of art coursework. Course selections include two- and three-dimensional art, art history, design, and art electives. Within this program, you’ll gain a broad understanding of art. You’ll also gain knowledge in a variety of art media, studio techniques and art history. As part of this degree, you’ll perfect your working knowledge of visual problem solving and critical thinking.
