As part of the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA), the Masters of Public Administration Program at TAMU-CC encourages you to go public with your career.

Public Administration focuses on the application of Public Administration theory and concepts in real world situations. The program focuses on the management of critical issues in our three tracks:

• Public Management
• Public Safety
• Healthcare Administration
• Non-profit Management

The MPA has been designed to meet the needs of full-time employees wishing to earn their degree through part-time study. Students in the program will take a core of seven courses in order to increase their understanding of administrative theory, policy making, data analysis, public budgeting and finance, and human resource management.

The Master's in Curriculum & Instruction allows students to develop expertise and knowledge aligned with their teaching level and academic interests. The program also builds professional skills in research, leadership, and teamwork, equipping educators to develop and contribute to curriculum at the classroom, school, and district levels.

The Pre-Master's Program is a 2-semester program, designed to help international students fully prepare for entry to a graduate degree program. During your studies you will work alongside experienced faculty to discover your potential in your field.

Your program will be a combination of core, English for Academic Purposes courses, and academic courses specific to your chosen degree. These courses have been specially designed to provide international students with the academic and English language skills required to help you succeed in your graduate degree.

Master of Business Administration
The Master of Business Administration degree will help you to develop your skills in communication and leadership so you can graduate as an effective leader, capable of responsibly leading and ethically problem-solving.

Hone your critical thinking skills and round out your education with unique research opportunities when you pursue a bachelor of science degree in biology.

As part of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi’s School of Science and Engineering, you’ll benefit from small classes led by award-winning faculty and hands-on research. Our undergraduate biology degree has six tracks, fitting a wide variety of student interests and career goals.

The biology curriculum includes courses that will prepare you for a teacher certification in life science, acceptance to postgraduate studies, or pre-professional studies in preparation for admission to professional schools.

Atmospheric Science
The Bachelor of Science program in Atmospheric Sciences addresses the needs of students interested in studying meteorology or climate science. The program provides students with an in-depth knowledge of the physical characteristics, motions and processes of air; as well as the interactions of this protective layer with the underlying oceans and continents. The undergraduate program emphasizes a systems approach, combining traditional atmospheric sciences with emerging fields. In particular, the program focuses on the fields of tropical meteorology and oceanography that are directly linked to the Gulf of Mexico and surrounding coastal regions where the university is strategically located.

Art
The curriculum for the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree is designed to provide professional development at the undergraduate level in the visual arts, through in-depth study in studio art. The degree requires a minimum of 75 semester hours in art, at least 36 of which must be in upper-division coursework.

What Will I Learn
Within this program, you’ll gain a broad understanding of visual art. You’ll also be preparing for specific careers along with theories and concepts, and will apply these theories and concepts in the senior exhibition.

The Fisheries and Mariculture Program offers an MS degree with a choice of emphasis in either fisheries or marine aquaculture. Our students enjoy a low student-faculty ratio and opportunities to study the biology of ecologically and commercially important Gulf of Mexico species as well as economically important cultured marine species. Nearly all students receive financial support from assistantships, fellowships, or scholarships awarded by the university and by private and public agencies.

Our students acquire the cutting edge science and technological skills necessary for positions in public and private sectors of the fisheries and mariculture industries, as well as undertaking research allowing them to pursue further studies at the Ph.D level. Student research topics are as varied as FAMA faculty expertise and have included fish culture for stock enhancement, ocean acidification, algae biofuels, use of biofloc in the culture of Pacific white shrimp, disease, and relative value of estuarine habitats for finfish and crustaceans. Faculty and student researchers use an array of quantitative research tools including molecular techniques, statistical analysis and GIS, as well as traditional field sampling methods.

English majors will choose an emphasis in literary studies or writing studies. The literary studies emphasis provides students with the skills to interpret and write about texts, including literary and filmic, within a range of historical and cultural contexts.

The writing studies emphasis allows students to develop their abilities to use writing in a variety of contexts and for a variety of purposes, and to develop an understanding of how writing operates in the world, through studies in rhetoric, literacy, and writing.

Both tracks give students skills as critical thinkers and communicators that will prepare them for a variety of different career paths, including law, business, teaching, and the sciences, as well as for graduate study.

Spanish
The main focus of the program is to develop the student’s language proficiency and the literary, cultural, practical application, and translation competencies demanded by many professional fields. To accomplish these goals, the Spanish curriculum includes courses in general Spanish Language, Spanish for the Professions, Hispanic Linguistics, Spanish and Spanish-American Literature and Civilizations, and Translation.

What Will I Learn
Within this program, you will demonstrate advanced proficiency in Spanish through performance on examinations, in-class presentations, and research papers. You will also demonstrate the ability to understand, analyze, and interpret the cultural, linguistic and literary aspects of the Spanish-speaking countries through in-class presentations, examinations, and research papers. With this degree, you will be prepared to teach Spanish and/or continue their studies at the graduate level.

Psychology
Psychology students at TAMUCC receive an excellent and intellectually exciting education in psychology as a science. Our faculty members represent many of the varied fields of contemporary psychology, including developmental psychology, social psychology, experimental psychology, personality psychology, and clinical psychology.

Our undergraduate Bachelor of Arts program is designed to provide the psychology major with a broadly-based education in the discipline. For those who are interested, opportunities exist within the department to conduct research under the supervision of our faculty.

What Will I Learn
Within this program, you will use critical and creative thinking, skeptical inquiry, and the scientific approach to solve problems related to behavior and mental processes. You will understand and apply research methods in psychology, including research design, data analysis, and interpretation. With this degree you will demonstrate understanding of the concepts, theoretical perspectives, empirical findings, and historical trends in psychology.
