Mechanical engineering is a branch of engineering that applies principles of engineering, basic science, and mathematics (including multivariate calculus and differential equations) for modeling, analysis, design, and realization of physical systems, components or processes.

What Will I Learn
Within this program, you’ll gain a broad understanding of the ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics. You’ll also be able to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors. The curriculum for the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree is designed to provide professional development at the undergraduate level in the visual arts, through in-depth study in studio art. The degree requires a minimum of 75 semester hours in art, at least 36 of which must be in upper-division coursework.

Environmental Science
The environmental science program at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi is designed to serve environmental science majors, science majors from other fields interested in adding to their knowledge of the environment, and interested non-science majors.

What Will I Learn
Within this program, you’ll enjoy small specialty classes and diverse laboratory and field experiences. Environmental science facilities include biological, geological and map collections as well as a wide array of field and laboratory equipment, and computer labs for GIS and modeling studies. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi research centers and institutes on campus afford students access to modern laboratories where they may participate in environmental research.

Political science is the study of politics, government, and public policy at the local, state, national, and international levels. It is concerned with the struggle for power and the exercise of power in public institutions. Political science seeks to reveal the patterns of behavior associated with politics, to explain the functioning of political and governmental institutions, to appraise alternative public policies, and to assess government's role in society.

Political science provides students with the broad training necessary to become successful professionals in a variety of fields, as well as engaged democratic citizens. As such, the purpose of the political science program is to foster the development of vital skills, such as critical thinking, communication, and analytical abilities in our students in order to prepare them for both a broad range of career choices and the pursuit of lifelong learning.

Within this program, you will gain critical thinking skills including, creative thinking, innovation, inquiry and analysis, evaluation, and synthesis of information. You will also demonstrate communication skills including, the effective development, interpretation, and expression of ideas through written, oral, and visual communication. Sociology
As the largest department in the College of Liberal Arts, we offer undergraduate degrees in both psychology and sociology, as well as minors in Social Work and Women and Gender Studies. We also offer a master’s degree in psychology with a clinical emphasis.

The Master's degree in Communication at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is designed for individuals who seek career advancement in communication positions, or who aspire to enroll in a doctoral program. Students in the Master's in Communication program can specialize in Organizational Leadership or Strategic Communication.

Theatre
The Theatre and Dance Program at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is a unique program offering courses specifically tailored for students pursuing careers in professional theatre and film, as well as those seeking Texas Teacher Certification in Theatre Arts. We are extremely devoted to preparing you for the challenges of creating theatre in the 21st Century.

The mission of our program is to provide students with the tools needed for preparation as theatre educators or professional practitioners, or for the continuation of their studies on the graduate level.

What Will I Learn
Within this program, you’ll gain a broad understanding of theatre. You’ll also understand acting, directing, and design tech.

The marketing major is designed to help students prepare for careers in fields such as retailing, distribution, marketing research, advertising, and personal selling.

The marketing curriculum provides knowledge and competencies that facilitate acquiring and succeeding in entry-level positions and moving into marketing management positions or business ownership. Emphasis is on development of analytical skills adequate for and appropriate to professional marketing activities in a highly competitive global market place.
