Electrical Engineering
Electrical Engineers develop electrical systems using knowledge of physics, mathematics, circuit design, electromagnetic theory, communication theory, control systems and signal processing. Electrical engineering historically involved how the generation, transmission and utilization of electrical energy.
What Will I Learn
Within this program, you’ll design and conduct experiments, as well as analyze and interpret data along with designing a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability. You’ll also identify, formulate, solve engineering problems, and understand professional and ethical responsibility with an ability to communicate effectively. As part of this degree, you’ll be able to analyze and design complex electrical and electronic devices, software and systems containing hardware and software components.

Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.

Grounded in our academic tradition as a Hispanic Serving Institution, the undergraduate English Program at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi invites students to engage with texts and employ language-related skills to connect with others both locally and globally.
We encourage students to explore and integrate three disciplines of English studies in their work, through the study of literature, applied linguistics, and writing. We challenge students to analyze, think critically about, and compose texts across genres, language varieties, and traditions for communities across cultural and geographic boundaries. In our courses and community events, students develop the advanced critical and creative literacies and language-related skills that prepare them for their future as active and ethical members of diverse communities.

The Bachelor of Science program in Atmospheric Sciences addresses the needs of students interested in studying meteorology or climate science. The program provides students with an in-depth knowledge of the physical characteristics, motions and processes of air; as well as the interactions of this protective layer with the underlying oceans and continents. The undergraduate program emphasizes a systems approach, combining traditional atmospheric sciences with emerging fields. In particular, the program focuses on the fields of tropical meteorology and oceanography that are directly linked to the Gulf of Mexico and surrounding coastal regions where the university is strategically located.

The University Studies degree at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is a flexible undergraduate program that allows students to design a course of study that best fits their educational and career goals rather than follow a specific track of coursework prescribed by a major degree. The University Studies degree can be completed as a Bachelor of Science (BS). With a University Studies degree, students will graduate with a breadth of knowledge in a range of academic disciplines, preparing them for the workforce, graduate school, or fulfilling their dreams of obtaining a degree.

Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science
The university offers the Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Environmental Science, an undergraduate Minor in Environmental Science, Secondary Teaching Certification in Earth Science, Life-Earth Science, or Physical Science, and cross-disciplinary educational opportunities for students earning degrees in related fields such as the Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences, BAS degree (Environmental & Occupational Safety/Emergency Response Track). A Fast Track Program allows high-achieving students to earn both the BS and MS degrees in Environmental Science in five years through accelerated study. In addition to formal coursework and research opportunities, opportunities exist on campus and in the professional community for students to gain practical experience through internships and cooperative work-study agreements with local government, state and federal agencies, or private industry.

Bachelor of Arts in Music
Our program offers performance opportunities via a wide array of ensembles which are open to all university students, including university orchestra, symphonic and concert bands, pep band, jazz band, university singers, Camerata Isla (chamber choir), and Corpus Christi Chorale. Music majors also participate in chamber ensembles including string quartet, various woodwind and brass ensembles, percussion ensemble, guitar ensemble, and more.
An accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Music, the university offers three undergraduate music degrees to help you reach your career goals: the Bachelor of Arts in Music, the Bachelor of Music leading to Teacher Certification, and the Bachelor of Music in Performance.
The Bachelor of Arts in Music has two tracks: Music Industry Emphasis and Music Studies Emphasis. Students can also choose a general Music Performance minor or a minor in Music Industry, which includes studies in recording technology and music business.
