Performing Arts Management
As a performing arts management major at Hartt, you will learn the skills to have a career in the performing arts of the commercial music business.  You are given the opportunity to concentrate in many different areas of management and business including the recording industry, touring, arts marketing, fundraising, for and non-profit management and entrepreneurial studies. Not only will you explore a variety of current problems inherent to the industry through classroom discussions, guest speakers, case studies and assignments, but also attend conferences and go on field trips to Connecticut arts institutions, as well as those in Boston and New York.

Core classes give you practical and hands-on experience including Arts Management Practicum and Internship, which enhance your leadership, teamwork and networking skills, while helping you grow personally and professionally. Recent students interned at The Bushnell Center for the Arts, The Newport Jazz Festival, Live Nation, City Parks Foundation, Tanglewood, Motema Records and many more.

With a Bachelor of Arts degree, your career-ready skills will be put to work at talent agencies, recording studios, performing arts centers, artist management companies, as well as professional dance and theatre companies.

The International Pathway Program (IPP) is designed especially for international students who have proven their academic ability but need to strengthen their English skills to achieve positive results in the collegiate environment. Students study a combination of English Language courses and credit-bearing academic courses. So they can earn credits towards their degree from the beginning.

Radiologic Technology
Radiologic Technology is a dynamic, fast-paced profession that combines the use of sophisticated medical imaging technology with compassionate care of the ill and injured. As a radiologic technician, you’ll be a member of a team that helps diagnose and treat all types of pathologies and conditions.

Clarinet
You will join a tight-knit community of artists who are perfecting their craft. Through personal attention and mentorship from Hartt’s accomplished faculty members, you will develop innovative ideas and career ready skills. French Horn
Through weekly privates lessons, and weekly studio classes, you will focus on small ensemble and solo playing. At Hartt, you will receive comprehensive musical training while developing innovative ideas and career ready skills while gaining exposure to nationally and internationally recognized musicians (recent guest artists include Gene Pokorney of CSO, Julie Landsman of The Met, Ray Mase of ABQ.)

Biology
If you are planning a career in research or plan to go on to graduate, medical, dental school then the Bachelor of Science in Biology program is recommended for you.
The curriculum includes a broad approach to biology and offers a comprehensive background in mathematics and the natural sciences.

The Bachelor of Science in Biology prepares you to successfully apply to graduate programs in biology that lead to a master’s degree or doctorate, or to a professional school such as medical, dental, veterinary, or pharmacy. The Bachelor of Science in Biology program also offers a path to earn both a BS in Biology and PharmD degree in six years in conjunction with the University of Saint Joseph Pharmacy School.

Biomedical Engineering
The biomedical engineering program prepares you to work in today’s healthcare industry and learn how to support professionals, hospitals, and medical offices by creating and maintaining important tools and resources. Discover how to design and build biomedical equipment and devices for diagnosing medical problems and improving health for those in need.

Biomedical engineers speak two languages: that of the engineer and that of the health professional. They understand what is involved in examining people, evaluating their health, and understanding what is available to improve their quality of life. They also comprehend the science and mathematics behind these areas and can evaluate the potential of new devices and methods to improve on current technologies.

Health Sciences
The Health Sciences program prepares you for professional or graduate study in a range of health-related fields such as occupational therapy, speech pathology, or public health. The program combines a strong science foundation with a variety of electives that allow you to explore different health-related topics. If you’re interested in a career in health care but aren’t sure which area to pursue, the Health Sciences program may be a good fit for you. Health Sciences is also available as a minor.
