The International Pathway Program (IPP) is your route to a degree from the highly ranked University of Hartford. With our program, you will develop the skills to progress to the graduate degree of your choice – and graduate on time. We provide you with the best possible start to your degree program, ensuring that you go on to find academic, social and personal success as a college student in the US.

The IPP is open to students who have proven their academic ability but need to strengthen their English skills to achieve positive results in the collegiate environment. You will learn about the subjects you love, while being able to dedicate time to developing your English.

Music Education: Pedagogy
The Pedagogy emphasis enables the student to design coursework that will strengthen his/her understanding and application of effective teaching methods.

Harp
Harp Ensemble, Repertoire and Studio Class and Harp Teaching Principles are just a few of the courses that harpists at Hartt partake in and enjoy. Orchestral and solo opportunities are many at Hartt, with monthly opportunities to perform solos or chamber music in the Evening with Guitar and Harp concert series. Hartt harpists are encouraged to partake in as many performance, competition and growth opportunities as possible, both in school, and in the vibrant capital region of Hartford.

The Master of Engineering (MEng) in civil engineering program emphasizes applied design, fundamental coursework, and development of key communication skills to meet today's industry demands and advance your career.

The Master of Engineering (MEng) in civil engineering program emphasizes applied design and stresses the development of oral, visual, and written communication skills in civil engineering to enable individuals to advance in their careers. Discover new knowledge in design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment. Have the flexibility to take research project-based courses through one of three tracks offered based on your interests. You may concentrate your studies in civil engineering, structural engineering, or transportation engineering by selecting appropriate courses available.

Entrepreneurial Studies
This interdisciplinary major gives you a background in many disciplines, including marketing, finance, accounting, and law. You will graduate with understanding of all aspects of business.

Gain hands-on experience by providing resources, training, and support to a local micro-business. You will complete a professional business plan to use to start your own venture. You may also choose to enter our annual Business Plan Competition. Our faculty advisors will help you every step of the way.

Dance Performance
The dance performance emphasis is designed to prepare students for careers in dance as professional performing artists. Students in this program focus on technique, performance, and choreography while participating in some pedagogical training as well. In addition, they partake of the considerable resources of academic excellence available through the University of Hartford. This program offers future dance performers the opportunity to develop their craft and artistry in a challenging yet nurturing environment while expanding their ability to function as engaged and educated citizens throughout their careers.

Music Production and Technology
Music production & technology at Hartt trains musicians to become music production professionals (i.e. recording, mixing, and mastering engineers).  Musicianship training has played an essential role for many, if not most, successful producers. Through study in music, electronics and acoustics, you will develop the skills and knowledge necessary to work in the professional audio industry.

International Studies

At UHart, the world can be your classroom! Seventy-five percent of our international studies student study abroad for a semester, a year, or during our Winterterm or Summerterm.

You can concentrate in either global security or global development, and consider a double major in politics and government, economics, or modern languages and cultures.

If you are interested in a careers in government, business, education, the nonprofit sector, or certain areas of law, the international studies program gives you a solid foundation. It also is appropriate to prepare for graduate studies in a variety of fields.

Illustration

Its rigors emphasize conceptual problem-solving, technical expertise, meeting deadlines, and other professional practices. We stress drawing knowledge and skill as the basis for all visual conceptualization. This is applied to both traditional and digital mediums.

We’ll sharpen your professional standards through sophomore and junior reviews. Our program prepares you to work at a professional level, with a comprehensive understanding of illustration and the ability to merge your client’s needs with your personal style.

Health Sciences
The Health Sciences program prepares you for professional or graduate study in a range of health-related fields such as occupational therapy, speech pathology, or public health. The program combines a strong science foundation with a variety of electives that allow you to explore different health-related topics. If you’re interested in a career in health care but aren’t sure which area to pursue, the Health Sciences program may be a good fit for you. Health Sciences is also available as a minor.
