TROY's SLI program is a 31- to 33-hour program—offered in thesis and non-thesis track options—that focuses on preparing domestic and international students for future careers in second language teaching.

Even in English-speaking countries, such as Great Britain, the United States and Australia, there has been an increase in the number of immigrants coming from non-English speaking countries. This means opportunities to find jobs for ESL teachers are quite promising.

This program will prepare you to work with individuals with disabilities in both public and private organizations. Led by experienced and knowledgeable faculty members within TROY’s Department of Counseling, Rehabilitation and Interpreter Training, your courses will equip you with the skills and understanding necessary for your chosen rehabilitation-related career. You’ll also grow as an advocate as you learn about community inclusion and integration.

In today’s society, the number of people with disabilities continues to grow. Because of this, there is a growing demand for rehabilitation professionals and other workers who provide services to people with disabilities. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistic’s (BLS) Occupational Outlook Handbook, physical therapists are among the fastest growing occupations in the nation with more than a 22 percent growth rate projected from 2018-2028.

That growth isn’t only felt in the physical therapy field—other rehabilitation-related occupations are expected to grow rapidly, as well. The BLS projects there will be a 22 percent growth rate among professions such as mental health counseling, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology and substance abuse counseling.

Within your courses, you will learn about music traditions from around the globe and how those traditions are entwined with the human experience. While some courses will help you trace the development of Western music from ancient worlds all the way to the contemporary periods, others will teach you the fundamentals of music, including rhythm and meter, note names, intervals, scales and more.

As a general music major, you’ll have access to incredible opportunities that allow you to participate in hands-on courses that will give you the skills for keyboard musicianship and sight reading, sight singing, improvisation techniques, harmonization and chorale playing. However, unlike the curriculum presented to students taking the academic path of a traditional engineer, your curriculum will focus on the foundational aspects of the field in order to prepare you to enter into the electronics hardware industry.

As a student pursuing your bachelor’s in electronics engineering technology, you’ll be taught by knowledgeable and experienced faculty members and given access to modern instrumentation and a wide range of courses. The interdisciplinary studies program lets you build your degree program based on your individual career goals and skill set. Within this program, you’ll complete your general studies courses and select three academic minors that will hone your skills across a broad spectrum of topics and specializations. This course load will be rounded off with any unrestricted electives you choose to complete the minimum 120 hours course requirement.
