In class, you'll be equipped to understand the causes and treatments of disabilities as well as various counseling theories and techniques. The Master of Science Graduate Program in Environmental and Biological Sciences is designed to broaden the student's perspective and provide skills and knowledge for understanding and solving problems in the environmental and biological sciences. The program teaches students the direct and indirect economic, social, and political contributions of the environmental and biological sciences. The program underscores the interdisciplinary and cooperative nature of environmental and biological issues. This program teaches students how to manage conflicts and emphasizes the importance of effectively communicating with the private and public sectors, regulatory agencies, interest groups, and communities. The mission of the Master of Accountancy program is to prepare students for careers with increasing professional and managerial responsibility in public accounting, government, and industry, as well as prepare students for admission to accounting Ph.D. programs. To achieve this, the program will focus on the development of specialized functional accounting knowledge; effective research and communication skills; using technology appropriate for the accounting profession; objectivity, integrity, and ethical behavior; and effective critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills.

To become licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Alabama and most other jurisdictions, students must complete additional educational requirements beyond the bachelor’s degree. Students can satisfy these requirements through our Master of Accountancy program.

The world continues to use radio and television as two of its main avenues for receiving news and information. Additionally, the Internet and social media play active roles in the way people around the globe receive their news and entertainment. As a TROY broadcast journalism student, you will learn to skillfully navigate these outlets to help deliver news to a rapidly changing audience.

Through your training within TROY’s award-winning Hall School of Journalism and Communication, you will master the art of news reporting, including the interview process and writing for mass media. Within the framework of your degree, you will become a practiced communicator as you combine core broadcast skills with hands-on TV studio and production techniques and experiences. These courses and opportunities will require you to hone your critical thinking skills all while learning to work under pressure and meet deadlines. You’ll have ample opportunities to report, produce and anchor live television newscasts Monday through Friday at TrojanVision, TROY’s state-of-the-art TV production studio.

Graduates of the program are prepared to improve the quality of life and well-being of individuals, groups or communities through direct practice, international practice, research, policy, community organizing and teaching.

The direct practice concentration offers students a one-of-a-kind opportunity in Alabama. Students will receive specialized training in providing advanced level social work services to individuals, families and groups. In addition, Troy University’s long partnership with the United States military, and TROY’s faculty with military backgrounds, provide the student the unique opportunity to gain focused training in dealing with military families. Graduates in this concentration have the opportunity to fill an unmet need in many areas of public and private social work in addition to filling the specific unmet need for social work services for our active duty military and reserve personnel.
