A Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Global Business with a concentration in management highlights the importance of management within the context of a global business framework. This BSBA is the degree for an individual seeking a role with a management emphasis in business, government, the military and not-for-profit organizations, both in the U.S. and the world over. Opportunities lie with national and international organizations, family-owned businesses, consulting firms and government agencies. This degree also prepares you for admission to graduate programs in business and professional schools of law.

As a recipient of the BSBA in Global Business with a concentration in management, you will have the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to understand and cope with the challenges faced by business and organizational leaders in a dynamic, global workplace. The curriculum is highly relevant to the needs of students and the requirements of their employers. TROY’s curriculum and highly qualified faculty provide students with the foundation to become successful leaders in business, industry and government.

The Biology/Biomedical Sciences program prepares students for careers in the health professions and biotechnology. It is an integral part of the pre-professional program. Students who receive a bachelor’s degree in Biology/Biomedical Sciences are well prepared to enter graduate or professional school, begin careers as laboratory technicians or seek employment in the biotechnology industry. 

Students complete a wide variety of courses aimed at providing a thorough understanding of the development, structure, and organization of the cell and are exposed to a wide variety of modern approaches to analyze genetic, molecular, and cellular events.

Specialized courses in Microbial Ecology Applied Genetics, Biochemistry, and Immunology complement the offerings in Biomedical Sciences. The inclusion of lab-based investigations in these courses serves to enhance the students' exposure to state of the art approaches to solving complex problems in biological systems.

Students who choose the Biology/Biomedical Sciences program will have many opportunities for growth outside the classroom. Many research opportunities are available for students to conduct research with faculty mentors using current technology and equipment. Additionally, students are encouraged to join the Department's three student organizations, including: Beta Beta Beta (National Biological Honor Society), The Environmental Club, and Alpha Epsilon Delta (Health Professions Honor Society).

The Bachelor of Fine Arts degree is the standard, comprehensive and professional degree for those who wish to enter the market as studio professionals or enter into a graduate studio program.

Students are given four options to emphasize in this highly rigorous program of study: 2D, 3D, Photography and Digital Studio. The BFA program requires admission through an interview and portfolio review process as the expectations for this academic and career path is considered highly exceptional in studio practice.

Studio art encompasses visual art such as photographs, paintings, prints, drawings, sculptures and ceramics. Earning a studio arts degree from Troy University gives you access to an innovative curriculum, skilled and knowledgeable faculty and a focus of your choosing. Concentrations are offered in 2D, 3D, photography and/or digital studio.

Within the bachelor of studio arts program at TROY, you will be introduced to desktop graphic applications, emerging technological advancements in art and design and principles of two-, three- and four-dimensional space and drawing. You will also examine the development of art from pre-history to the Gothic period focusing on the various social and cultural factors that determine the uses and appearance of art at different times.

In TROY’s general music program, you will take classes taught by skilled and knowledgeable faculty members who have a passion for music and guiding you toward success. Within your courses, you will learn about music traditions from around the globe and how those traditions are entwined with the human experience. While some courses will help you trace the development of Western music from ancient worlds all the way to the contemporary periods, others will teach you the fundamentals of music, including rhythm and meter, note names, intervals, scales and more.

As a general music major, you’ll have access to incredible opportunities that allow you to participate in hands-on courses that will give you the skills for keyboard musicianship and sight reading, sight singing, improvisation techniques, harmonization and chorale playing. You will also participate in classes focusing on the applications of the microcomputer, music teaching, and the management, planning and record-keeping tasks of the music educator.

As you work toward earning your bachelor’s in mathematics, you’ll find yourself a part of a close-knit family of scholars and mathematicians within TROY’s Department of Mathematics. TROY's dedicated and celebrated counseling and psychology staff will familiarize you with the laws and regulations that govern the disability field. In class, you'll be equipped to understand the causes and treatments of disabilities as well as various counseling theories and techniques. Your degree will also prepare you to recommend workplace accommodations for individuals with various disabilities, perform labor market and job analyses and facilitate the employment of individuals with disabilities through advocacy and assistance with job searches.

The Master of Science Graduate Program in Environmental and Biological Sciences is designed to broaden the student's perspective and provide skills and knowledge for understanding and solving problems in the environmental and biological sciences. The program teaches students the direct and indirect economic, social, and political contributions of the environmental and biological sciences. The program underscores the interdisciplinary and cooperative nature of environmental and biological issues. This program teaches students how to manage conflicts and emphasizes the importance of effectively communicating with the private and public sectors, regulatory agencies, interest groups, and communities. The Program objectives are listed below:

• To demonstrate the pivotal role of the environmental and biological sciences in understanding and addressing environmental, ecological, medical, agricultural and policy-related issues.
• To promote the professional development of students for entry and advancement in the private and public sectors as scientists, educators, administrators or managers.
• To provide students with the necessary skills for performing research, reviewing and evaluating regulatory guidelines and writing professional documents.
• To foster an understanding and appreciation of the role of values and ethics in research, management and institutional performance.
• To strengthen the academic foundations of students seeking entry into professional schools and into doctoral programs at graduate schools.
• To provide teachers with opportunities for advancement and to broaden and update their knowledge in order to enrich the classroom experience of their students.

Troy University’s social science major will prepare you to understand and contribute to society in a meaningful way by applying critical and creative thinking, technology and an interdisciplinary perspective to solving practical problems.

As a student of social science, you will learn to analyze societal issues, identify improvements, and recommend solutions using statistics and data analysis. You’ll learn to communicate effectively and to evaluate individual and community needs. As you develop the ability to analyze complex social problems, you will become able to work toward realistic solutions using awareness, acceptance and appreciation of diversity, social factors and global multicultural perspectives.

The interdisciplinary studies program lets you build your degree program based on your individual career goals and skill set. Within this program, you’ll complete your general studies courses and select three academic minors that will hone your skills across a broad spectrum of topics and specializations. This course load will be rounded off with any unrestricted electives you choose to complete the minimum 120 hours course requirement.
