Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.

Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Global Business with Concentration in Management (STEM)
A Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Global Business with a concentration in management highlights the importance of management within the context of a global business framework. It offers you an opportunity to obtain proficiency in management concepts, skills and techniques, particularly as they are applied to strategic management efforts.
The degree focuses on the essential role of managing people, the organization and the organization relative to its external environment. Success involves meeting this challenge of organizational management in a dynamic environment of technological change, global competition and employee diversity.
This BSBA is the degree for an individual seeking a role with a management emphasis in business, government, the military and not-for-profit organizations, both in the U.S. and the world over. Bachelor of Science in Biology/Biomedical Sciences (STEM)
The Biology/Biomedical Sciences program prepares students for careers in the health professions and biotechnology. It is an integral part of the pre-professional program. Students who receive a bachelor’s degree in Biology/Biomedical Sciences are well prepared to enter graduate or professional school, begin careers as laboratory technicians or seek employment in the biotechnology industry.
Students complete a wide variety of courses aimed at providing a thorough understanding of the development, structure, and organization of the cell and are exposed to a wide variety of modern approaches to analyze genetic, molecular, and cellular events.
Specialized courses in Microbial Ecology Applied Genetics, Biochemistry, and Immunology complement the offerings in Biomedical Sciences. The inclusion of lab-based investigations in these courses serves to enhance the students' exposure to state of the art approaches to solving complex problems in biological systems.
Students who choose the Biology/Biomedical Sciences program will have many opportunities for growth outside the classroom. Many research opportunities are available for students to conduct research with faculty mentors using current technology and equipment. Additionally, students are encouraged to join the Department's three student organizations, including: Beta Beta Beta (National Biological Honor Society), The Environmental Club, and Alpha Epsilon Delta (Health Professions Honor Society).

The Bachelor of Fine Arts degree is the standard, comprehensive and professional degree for those who wish to enter the market as studio professionals or enter into a graduate studio program.
Students are given four options to emphasize in this highly rigorous program of study: 2D, 3D, Photography and Digital Studio. The BFA program requires admission through an interview and portfolio review process as the expectations for this academic and career path is considered highly exceptional in studio practice.
Studio art encompasses visual art such as photographs, paintings, prints, drawings, sculptures and ceramics. Earning a studio arts degree from Troy University gives you access to an innovative curriculum, skilled and knowledgeable faculty and a focus of your choosing. Concentrations are offered in 2D, 3D, photography and/or digital studio.
Within the bachelor of studio arts program at TROY, you will be introduced to desktop graphic applications, emerging technological advancements in art and design and principles of two-, three- and four-dimensional space and drawing. You will also examine the development of art from pre-history to the Gothic period focusing on the various social and cultural factors that determine the uses and appearance of art at different times.

In TROY’s general music program, you will take classes taught by skilled and knowledgeable faculty members who have a passion for music and guiding you toward success. Within your courses, you will learn about music traditions from around the globe and how those traditions are entwined with the human experience. While some courses will help you trace the development of Western music from ancient worlds all the way to the contemporary periods, others will teach you the fundamentals of music, including rhythm and meter, note names, intervals, scales and more.
