Students work on individual and team projects, focusing on game design, cell phone apps, web applications, visualization, Teensy Board Programming and database accessing applications, to name a few.

Students in the computer science undergraduate program benefit from small classes and an active Computer Science Club, a student organization that hosts weekly seminars, study sessions and many other activities.

The enormous growth of current and emerging technologies has generated a need for graduates with computer science degrees. Students graduating from Troy University’s undergraduate and graduate programs are prepared to work in a wide range of computing roles such as software engineers, system analysts, computer system designers or computer programmers.

The Troy University School of Accountancy is committed to providing students the accounting education required to enter the accounting profession and to pursue a successful professional career. The Troy University School of Accountancy offers an undergraduate accounting curriculum that provides the foundation for entering the accounting profession in the public, private, or governmental area. An undergraduate degree in accounting will also give you a strong foundation in business-related topics such as marketing, finance, and management. Earning your degree in Accounting gives you flexibility in choosing employment or furthering your education. If you choose immediate employment, you will have the skills to obtain an entry-level position in a public, private, or governmental entity. If you choose to further your education, you will have the coursework necessary to enter graduate programs in accounting such as the Master of Accountancy. As a TROY student, you will have an opportunity to seek a paid internship at one of the many local, regional and national firms or private company businesses and governmental agencies that recruit students from Troy University. The internships generally begin in January and last approximately three months. Importantly, the internship program is part of the accounting curriculum, so participation in the internship program does not delay graduation.

You will also have the opportunity to participate in the recruiting activities sponsored by the School of Accountancy. Our annual Accountancy Day and Meet-the-Firms events provide networking opportunities with Certified Public Accounting (CPA) firms as well as governmental agencies and private company industry representatives. You will have the opportunity to enhance your interview skills through workshops co-sponsored with the Alabama Society of CPAs, Becker CPA Review, and ITAC Solutions. As a TROY student, you may also join the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA)—one of the most prestigious professional organizations in the United States—as well as the Alabama Society of CPAs.

This expertise has given graduates opportunities to move into government work in Washington, D.C., go into state or local government and work for political campaigns. This program also provides a great foundation for those planning to pursue law school or another doctoral program, while others focus on developing their writing and research skills to work as journalists or in other enterprises.

TROY surveying and geomatics sciences graduates play key roles in the design and construction of the nation’s buildings, roads, bridges, tunnels, water-supply systems and utilities. Depending on your area of expertise, you may find yourself designing and building computer systems for purposes such as land management, resource management, utility organization, traffic control and urban planning. Working as a surveyor, you can also help less developed countries change their land ownership systems to promote economic growth and democracy. The purpose of Troy University's English major is to prepare undergraduate students to enter today's professions, public services, or graduate programs with literacy in English and American language. To ensure the success of the instruction in the classroom, students are tested prior to graduation using the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages exam for oral and aural proficiency. The TROY Spanish Club is very active on campus and plays host to many cultural and language activities for students.

TROY students also work with native speakers from Puerto Rico, Mexico, Spain, Costa Rica, Venezuela and other Spanish speaking countries inside the classroom.
