This program offers students the tools and direction to enter the professional Theatre industry, graduate study in Theatre, or work in a related field. Students have the opportunity to explore the broad world of Theatre while discovering and developing their own areas of interest and emphasis, gaining hands-on experience in performance, design, technology, management, playwriting, and advanced academic studies. Students develop résumé and portfolio materials, learn to network with industry professionals, and are encouraged to work professionally through employment opportunities and internships. The rich array of professional quality theatre, musical theatre, and dance productions each year give students a chance to immediately apply what is learned in the classroom, and new works and outreach initiatives allow students to experiment with creating and producing their own work.

The computer science program provides students with a curriculum in the key domains of computer science at undergraduate and graduate levels. These programs provide students with computer science knowledge and skills while preparing them for careers in computer technology and for advanced study in graduate courses. The direct practice concentration offers students a one-of-a-kind opportunity in Alabama. Students will receive specialized training in providing advanced level social work services to individuals, families and groups. In addition, Troy University’s long partnership with the United States military, and TROY’s faculty with military backgrounds, provide the student the unique opportunity to gain focused training in dealing with military families. Graduates in this concentration have the opportunity to fill an unmet need in many areas of public and private social work in addition to filling the specific unmet need for social work services for our active duty military and reserve personnel.

Graduates of TROY’s Master of Social Work program will be equipped to:

The mission of the Master of Accountancy program is to prepare students for careers with increasing professional and managerial responsibility in public accounting, government, and industry, as well as prepare students for admission to accounting Ph.D. programs. To achieve this, the program will focus on the development of specialized functional accounting knowledge; effective research and communication skills; using technology appropriate for the accounting profession; objectivity, integrity, and ethical behavior; and effective critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills.

To become licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Alabama and most other jurisdictions, students must complete additional educational requirements beyond the bachelor’s degree. Students can satisfy these requirements through our Master of Accountancy program.
