The School for Marine Sciences & Technology’s (SMAST) MS in Marine Science and Technology program emphasizes societal need-driven research and learning in an interdisciplinary environment. The MS program focuses on observations, modeling, experimentation, and theory in the areas of ocean sciences, ocean technology, and marine policy.

Students work independently as well as collaboratively with our renowned faculty and some of the most highly regarded oceanographic institutions and may pursue a range of leading-edge research projects in areas that include, but are not limited to, the following:

The mathematics program is designed to provide a solid foundation in the theoretical and applied aspects of mathematics necessary for a variety of professional careers. The flexibility within the third and fourth years is established to enable mathematics majors to concentrate in areas of their interest. The International Politics Concentration promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity with respect to international politics; it enables students to address global issues and contribute to the public good.

The Sociology and Anthropology Department offers a BA degree in Sociology and Anthropology with a concentration in Sociology: the study of social behavior and the socio-cultural settings in which it occurs.

Sociology and anthropology are closely related disciplines that focus on our social and cultural worlds.  Both emphasize understanding systems of inequality and power, and the interrelationship between global and local processes. We offer an  interdisciplinary major in Sociology and Anthropology; students will select a concentration in Anthorpology or a concentration in Sociology as described below.

When you major in Spanish, you'll gain proficiency in oral and written language skills while enhancing your awareness of the social and cultural influences that shape knowledge in the Spanish-speaking world.
