While completing the philosophy major, students may select the option in Philosophy of Business, Innovation and Technology. This option provides official recognition for those who choose to emphasize the study of the relationships between markets, technology and human well-being. Students will choose courses in the philosophy of artificial intelligence, evolution, neuroscience, biotechnology, business ethics, economic policy, environmental ethics and other high impact subjects. 

The Master in Public Policy degree (MPP) offers you the opportunity to learn the skills you need to succeed in today’s public policy jobs—analytical expertise, strategic vision, clear and compelling communications, and the tools of leadership. This public policy master's program is ideal whether you will be completing your bachelor’s degree in the near future or are currently working in a policy-related field. You can choose a track focused on public policy analysis or strategy and communications—and select from a broad range of electives to personalize your degree. 

Marine biologists seek to understand and protect marine and estuarine ecosystems and the organisms that inhabit them. A graduate degree in marine biology prepares you for a successful career in science, technology, education and public service.

The Integrative and Organismal Biology (IOB) option offers a home to students interested in basic organismal biology in all of its diverse aspects (physiology, neurobiology, behavior, cell biology, genetics, evolution, ecology, systematics, etc.), in both terrestrial and aquatic environments. Modern biology employs approaches and tools ranging from molecular to ecological levels to gain a deep understanding of organismal functions and adaptations. Students in IOB approach their studies with a focus on organisms, and apply whatever tools are necessary to answer thematic and specific questions. Students interested in combining hands-­on biological projects with research on teaching and learning biology at the post-­secondary level should choose this option. Students completing degrees in IOB will be prepared for a wide range of professional careers in animal and/or plant biology, whether in academia, government, research, or non­profit organizations.

This degree program offers broad coverage of modern statistical theory and extensive experience using statistical software – including R, SAS and JMP – to analyze complex physical, biological and economic models. The statistics program prepares students for graduate study and provides several elective options that prepare graduates for successful careers in actuarial science.

At UNH, the mechanical engineering M.Eng. program will enable you to complete advanced coursework in one or more specialized concentrations including fluid dynamics and thermal science, mechanics, materials science, design and manufacturing, dynamic systems and control, and ocean engineering. In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to complete a research project in one of these areas. 

The bachelor of science in Earth sciences is offered through the Department of Earth Sciences. The program represents a strong concentration in the Earth sciences and is especially well-suited for students who plan to continue their studies in graduate school. Beyond a central core of courses, there are several possible specializations (climate, geology, geophysics, oceanography) from which students must chose in order to develop depth in a particular area of Earth sciences. Students are encouraged to attend a summer off-campus field experience, for which scholarship funds may be available.

In fact, you may earn beyond $15,000 more annually compared to those with an undergraduate degree alone. Through UNH’s electrical and computer engineering program, you’ll be introduced to advanced tools related to your field of interest, and you’ll have the flexibility to take coursework in areas including business, law and mathematics to propel your career in the direction you want. Our faculty conduct research in areas including computer networking, wireless communication systems, embedded computing, human-computer interaction, digital signal and image processing, biomedical instrumentation, controls, and VLSI.

With an M.A. in history, you’ll gain an advanced understanding of how societies, cultures, economics, politics, science and arts of the past have shaped today’s world. Our Master of Arts degree is highly flexible, so you can tailor your program to meet your needs. Our faculty are experts in a wide range of times, places and subjects, with particular strengths in cultural history, women's history, military history, the history of religion, Atlantic history, and the history of science and technology. In this graduate program, you’ll be trained in methods of historical research and writing that will prepare you for a professional career or advanced studies.

The Sustainable Agriculture & Food Systems B.A. provides students with a broad base of knowledge and experiences with modern agriculture and food systems. Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems is an interdisciplinary field comprising the social, physical, and life sciences and beyond. Agriculture is key to solving many of the major challenges facing the world; such as producing food to meet the needs of an ever-growing population while conserving land, water, and soil resources.

Our students get hands-on experience in applied coursework, and we encourage our students to conduct research alongside faculty. Our students become practitioners and entrepreneurs of agricultural and food businesses, researchers and policy-makers at state/federal agencies and non-profit organizations, laboratory technicians, and agricultural educators. Some go on to obtain an advanced degree in the agricultural sciences.
