B.S. Engineering provides both flexibility and direction. Through this program, you will:

The International Business - Economics degree is designed to provide in-depth expertise in the discipline of economics while it concurrently provides students with a broader, global business perspective. Such perspective is essential to operating in today’s increasing complex multi-national business context. The program ensures students have a proficiency in a second language, enhanced socio-cultural awareness and a robust study abroad experience. Today’s business climate is marked by fluid and interconnected financial markets, widely available technological advancements that increase global connectivity, increased international trade, and the emergence of vibrant growing economies in what were formerly considered third world countries. Increased globalization has necessitated that managers have a broad, holistic perspective that incorporates the diverse components of an international business degree. Such a degree will become increasingly valuable as the trends associated with 21st century commerce progress.

Students earning a B.S. degree in international business - economics are required to complete 121 credits, including the university core curriculum (41 credits) and the business program core (30 credits).    Further clarification and additional requirements are outlined below:

The objective of the Master of Science in Accounting program is to provide an in-depth framework for corporate, forensic, AI/analytics, and taxation accounting inquiry, devised in structure and content from the entire scope and process of accounting-information-based economic decision-making. The existence of such a framework is intended to provide graduate accountants and professional practitioners with an opportunity to share in the development and assessment of issues of accounting interest within a decision-making context. Additionally, the Master of Science in Accounting program is designed to provide non-accountants and practitioners with the accounting credits requisite for certification.

The AI/Analytics concentration provides the tools for data analysis used in auditing, predictive modeling, forensic accounting, and business operations analytics.  These tools will enhance the traditional skillsets provided in the Master of Science in Accounting core.  This is a cutting-edge field in the modern American marketplace.

Program Outcomes:

• Students will demonstrate familiarity with the fundamental concepts and knowledge in their concentration areas of Corporate, Forensic, Tax, or AI/Analytics.
• Students will be able to apply knowledge from 1.1 toward analysis and analyze data using technology and information systems and using appropriate quantitative and analytical techniques.
• Students will able to integrate knowledge from functional Accounting areas and formulate solutions that consider both the internal and the external environments of an organization.
• Students will be able to analyze the effects of business transactions using Accounting fundamentals.
• Students will able to demonstrate an understanding of social responsibility in accounting and its effects on stakeholders.

Especially valuable to professional individuals with a number of years of experience in industry and entrepreneurs, applicants are required to hold a four-year baccalaureate degree in engineering or a related field.

Program highlights include:

• Advanced education in the use of scarce resources, managing workforce teams, establishing effective supply chains, assuring high-quality products and services, establishing customer relationships, and planning successful organizational operations
• Business basics such as finance, marketing, and organizational change and development topics
• An accelerated M.S. in Engineering and Operations Management Cohort Program for working professionals with courses in the following formats: (1) meeting one afternoon per week in West Haven and New London, (2) are online, or (3) are hybrid (partially online)

The community-clinical services concentration prepares students for careers in clinical, mental health, and related human-service settings. Work at the individual level is stressed, as are consultation, social problem analysis, and prevention techniques and strategies

Program Outcomes:

• Students will successfully conduct applied social research relevant to community psychology.
• Students successfully apply major theoretical concepts in the core community psychology curriculum and their concentration area. 
• Students demonstrate, at a professional level, applied intervention skills in an internship setting relevant to their concentration.

The program consists of 36 credits, 18 of which compose the core curriculum completed by all students, and 9 of which constitute one of three areas of concentration. The remaining 9 credits are electives.

Our program is a great choice for those who’ve recently completed an undergraduate degree or who are looking to continue their education straight out of college. The program’s schedule allows for students to complete the program in as few as 12 months for those who meet the criteria to waive the three business foundation courses, and carry a 12-credit hour load. Students who do not meet the waiver criteria may complete the program in less than two years.

Financial Analysis

Our MPA program provides students with the core skills and knowledge necessary to be a successful professional in Public Service, as well as offering students an opportunity to complete a concentration in one of five timely areas: 1) Municipal Management, 2) Public Financial Management, 3) Public Safety, 4) Nonprofit Management, and 5) Fire and Emergency Medical Services.
