The International Business - Accounting degree is designed to provide in-depth expertise in the discipline of accounting while it concurrently provides students with a broader, global business perspective. Program Outcomes

• Students will demonstrate understanding of financial accounting, managerial accounting, cost accounting, taxation, and auditing concepts needed by entry level accounting staffs.

Students majoring in Business management have the option of pursuing the concentration in Human Resource Management. Human Resource (HR) positions are in demand.

The goal of the Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a concentration in Human Resource management (HRM) is to prepare students to acquire knowledge, skills and abilities in the main areas of the field of HRM such as workforce planning and talent management, training and developing, leading performance management, motivating and rewarding employees, dealing with labor relations, and creating a safe environment where human resources can thrive and contribute to the growth of their organization. Besides the specialized set of competencies that student will acquire in HRM, they will also be able to develop a solid background in the areas of business management and liberal arts. Graduates of this program will have the ability to assume entry-level management and HR specialist positions in a variety of private, public, and non-profit organizations.

Students earning a B.S. degree in Business Management are required to complete 121 credits, including the university core curriculum (41 credits) and the business program core (30 credits).  The major allows the flexibility to minor in a wide array of related areas such as entrepreneurship or marketing.

A key aspect of our M.S. degree, as it can prepare you to enter the computer industry directly after graduation, or to continue your educational path to a Ph.D. A variety of electives allow you to customize your experience to suit your interests.

Make the Switch!
An additional feature of the program caters to those wishing to switch fields into the computer science realm. We have prepared a set of six bridge courses to help you transition from your previous background to a level of readiness that enables you to successfully pursue the rest of the degree program. The B.S. degree in business analytics prepares students for careers that use data to support and inform business decision-making and management. Students learn skills in a natural progression including assembling and managing data, displaying data, uncovering patterns in data, developing predictive models, and using these models to make better decisions across all business domains. Business analytics skills are in demand across a wide range of industries including healthcare, sports, marketing, finance, consulting, supply-chain operations, and information technology. Students are encouraged to develop expertise in a functional business discipline such as supply-chain management, health care management, marketing or finance using elective coursework.

The sport management concentration teaches students to utilize their quantitative analytical skills to make informed and accurate decisions in the sport management sphere.

We will prepare you to excel in this ever-evolving industry, which comprises game publishers, athletes, coaches, trainers, publicists, broadcasters, the media platforms the games are streamed on, brands that sponsor the teams, and, of course, the fans.

Pick an interdisciplinary concentration
What makes our program in Esports and Gaming unique is its truly interdisciplinary nature. In addition to core classes in businesses, our unique concentrations enable you to take courses in the School of Health Sciences, the Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences, and the Tagliatela College of Engineering.

• Corruption and Gambling Concentration. You will learn to evaluate how competitors are coerced into behaving corruptly and how to explain the effects of organized crime on gambling in esports.
• Game Studies Concentration: You will learn how to develop a game narrative using contemporary gaming techniques and how to analyze games for dimensions of social responsibility.
• Esports Performance and Health Concentration. You will learn to assess health factors that impact esports participants’ overall potential performance and how to implement behavioral strategies that promote health among esports competitors.

The University’s full-time MBA program, which is one of only two in Connecticut – and less than 30 across the U.S. – that offer concentrations that are STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) certified by the federal government, enables you to both master new skills through rigorous coursework and build a portfolio of experience through internships and real-world learning opportunities that will prepare you to excel.

Our program is a great choice for those who’ve recently completed an undergraduate degree or who are looking to continue their education straight out of college. The program’s schedule allows for students to complete the program in as few as 12 months for those who meet the criteria to waive the three business foundation courses, and carry a 12-credit hour load. Students who do not meet the waiver criteria may complete the program in less than two years.

Financial Analysis

This concentration provides students with competencies in evaluating the financial health of the organization and utilizing this information to create market strength. It provides a focused exposure to financial tools essential to the modern organizations for valuation, asset management, and risk management. The core program instruction includes the application of mathematics and statistics to the finance industry, computation and simulations methods, economics, and financial markets performance analysis and application.
