The bachelor of science in fire science is offered with a choice of two concentrations to allow the student to major in fire science and specialize in an area of interest. The concentration areas are fire/arson investigation and fire administration.

Program Outcomes:

• Students can analyze and manage multi-hazard emergency conditions, and make appropriate strategic, tactical and task decisions to mitigate the incident.
• Students can establish an incident command system at an emergency in accordance with national standards.
• Students can identify causes of fires within the community and establish appropriate fire prevention strategies
• Students understand the role of a fire officer within the local government and can apply knowledge of leadership, organizational issues, regulations and standards to ensure organizational effectiveness in the administration of a fire fighting company, battalion or department.
• Ability to make strategic and tactical decisions relating to management of a fire service organization in the areas of budgeting, project management, contract negotiations, discipline and conflict resolution.

As a mental health counselor, you’ll help individuals, groups, and families overcome challenges by providing them emotional and psychological support and assist them in improving their well-being.

As part of our innovative M.A. program in clinical mental health counseling, you'll study theories and skills related to mental health, substance use, and trauma interventions and learn how to apply them to connect with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds.

Our 60-credit program is designed to meet the program requirements to be a Connecticut Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). The objective of the Master of Science in Accounting program is to provide an in-depth framework for corporate, accounting analytics, and taxation accounting inquiry, devised in structure and content from the entire scope and process of accounting-information-based economic decision-making. The B.S. in Health Sciences combines basic scientific knowledge, healthcare industry specific knowledge, and practical skills for students to be competitive in the 21st century healthcare workforce. The program addresses both the administrative and technical aspects of healthcare as well as the professional, social, ethical, and political elements.  Courses provide broad technical skills as well as the organizational competencies needed for entry level positions in a wide range of healthcare organizations and companies, as well as preparation for graduate study in clinical professions.  In particular, this program aims to provide a broad, interdisciplinary training for students interested in clinical and non-clinical health fields including but not limited to medicine, population health, clinical research administration, and healthcare administration.  The B.S. in Health Sciences also offers two optional concentrations: Speech-Language Pathology and Occupational Therapy.  Each of these concentrations focuses on a specific healthcare profession and is designed to prepare students for graduate school in an area of specialization.
