The Bachelor of Science curriculum offers a broad, integrated, and in-depth approach to the life sciences. Departmental requirements consist of a balanced core of courses selected from several subject areas, combined with elective courses from the Department of Biological Sciences and other life science departments such as Neuroscience, Cell Biology and Physiology, and Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. This degree program can accommodate students with such differing interests and objectives as graduate work in molecular biology, laboratory work in microbiology, or field work in ecology. The B.S. degree also can serve as preprofessional preparation for programs such as medical, dental, or veterinary sciences, or for education licensure.

• Students completing a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences will be able to:

The Master of Music in Music Education degree is a professionally oriented program. It is designed to serve music educators from primary to postsecondary levels. Though all courses are pertinent to terminal degree programs, they are equally valuable for students who plan to study at the doctoral level. A variety of program options allows students to design programs that suit their professional goals and take into account their backgrounds and experience.

The Bachelor of Science curriculum in Chemistry approaches students' educational endeavors with a broad, integrated, and in-depth view. Departmental requirements, combined with university core requirements and electives, offer a balanced course load for students. This provides undergraduates with the opportunity to explore where their interests in the science field will lead them. This option combines all the required courses for admission to a professional school, which includes two years of chemistry, one year of physics, one year of mathematics, while utilizing recommended courses as science electives to fulfill the bachelor's requirements. Crime and justice studies (CJS) is an interdisciplinary and incredibly varied field of study. Knowledge specific to the discipline relies upon research from fields as varied as sociology, law, history, psychology, and political science. It encompasses analysis of federal, state, and local entities that seek to understand, control, and deter crime. The principal agencies charged with these responsibilities are law enforcement, the judiciary, and corrections. More fundamentally, however, crime and justice studies examines questions of social justice—concerns related to equality, fairness, freedom, security, and social order. If you are interested in understanding the causes, responses, and consequences of crime for the individual as well as the larger society, consider this program.

Crime and justice studies is a liberal arts degree and therefore, our focus is on providing you with a well-rounded, critically engaged, and scientifically informed understanding of the field. While practical experience is a vital component of our curriculum, our larger mission is that, when you graduate, you will be an innovator and leader in your chosen occupations and will utilize scientific reasoning and sharply honed analytical skills on your path to success. You will be prepared for positions in a variety of occupations, including local and federal law enforcement, probation and parole, civil, criminal and juvenile courts, research, corrections, teaching, forensics, and a variety of other fields.

While crime and justice studies is an exciting and challenging major, it is not for everyone. Unfortunately, if you have a prior criminal record or a drug or alcohol dependency it will be difficult for you to obtain employment in the field once you graduate. Further, it is a field that generally requires not only keen analytic and technical skills but also the ability to empathize, establish strong interpersonal boundaries, and, most importantly, maintain fundamental respect for the rights and dignity of others.

The Master of Science program, leading to the M.S. degree, gives the student a broad base of fundamental theory and concentrated study in a particular area of specialization. This program is designed for the student who either desires a career in industry or government or wants to pursue further graduate study. Each student does experimental or theoretical research in an area of interest and writes a thesis.

The aerospace medicine Master of Science degree program is conducted by the Boonshoft School of Medicine’s Department of Community Health, Division of Aerospace Medicine. The program is the preventive medicine specialty that  promotes the health and functional well-being of pilots, astronauts and other flight crew members as well as all other people traveling in air or space. Our physician trainees endeavor to discover, prevent and manage various adverse  physiological responses of the normal healthy individual to the hostile aerospace environment, and learn to manage common medical problems associated with aerospace flights. Operationally related training includes life-support systems, aircraft and spacecraft accident investigation and aerospace human factors. Aerospace medical certification of pilots, astronauts and other flight crew members is also an important part of this training.

Program Learning Outcomes
The learning outcomes are centered on graduate pass rate for the American Board of Preventive Medicine - Aerospace Medicine certification exam.

The thesis option is for students who need or desire the full range of professional experience, including intensive research and writing. This option assures training in research techniques and in the preparation of scholarly papers. It culminates in the preparation and defense of a thesis based on original research. The student's program of study is an initiation into methods of focused study and research in a selected area of physiology or neuroscience.

The course option allows the student to plan a program of study that, along with the degree requirements, satisfies his or her educational needs and career objectives. This might be to extend knowledge for a current position, or as preparation for one of many health professions. The student's program of study typically culminates with two scientific writing courses broadly in the areas of Physiology and/or Neuroscience.
