The honors program in the Department of Art and Art History is designed to give students with outstanding academic ability and superior accomplishments in art history the opportunity to complete a program that encourages and recognizes their distinguished efforts. These students may earn an honors degree by completing the departmental major requirements, maintaining a high academic record, and successfully completing a senior honors project. Students are usually admitted to the program during their junior year. Interested students can obtain information on the honors program from the Department of Art and Art History office.

Program Learning Outcomes:

• Have integrated drawing skills into their aesthetic sensibility.
• Demonstrate an acquaintance with the materials and procedures of four of the studio disciplines taught at Wright State.
• Show appropriate levels of proficiency in several of the studio disciplines
• Have an understanding of the evolution of art history.
• Have integrated the study of original works of art into their artistic practice.

Wright State’s excellent facilities include access to constant temperature rooms, coldrooms, darkrooms, animal care facilities, and cell and tissue culture facilities. The equipment includes the latest available technology in fluorescent microscopes, flow cytometry, and mass spectrometers.

You will learn about the human body and how it interfaces with its immune system to battle foreign organisms. Pursue a specialty in areas like immunology, virology, immunotoxicology, DNA and conventional vaccine development, and molecular genetics. Professionally bound students may select BFAs in either Acting or Musical Theatre. These degrees both require students to master fundamental skills in Acting, Movement, Voice and Speech. Acting students continue with focus on a wide range of contemporary and period styles, with intensive focus in classical acting, stage combat and vocal skills. Musical Theatre students continue with a range of courses focusing on the broad ranger of styles from operetta to the most contemporary works. Musical Theatre majors study dance daily and intensive vocal performance. The professional acting and musical theatre programs are each an intensive, four-year progression of studies in acting, voice, movement, dance, and singing. Because courses in the Acting and Musical Theatre acting programs follow a set sequence, students are generally admitted only in the fall quarter. The Professional Actor Training Program is limited by audition to only selected, superior students who show promise of high achievement in acting and/or musical theatre. Retention in the Professional Actor Training Program is determined by periodic review. Students are retained in the program based on their growth and development as judged by the acting faculty

Businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies are increasingly relying on data to drive decision-making and increase productivity and profitability. This graduate program is designed for working professionals like you to help advance your career. This program is one year with a flexible, convenient blended education approach. You will spend four weekends in on-campus residences and do the remaining coursework online.

The program focuses on a problem-solving approach to information management, using real-life experiences, case materials, and simulations taught by outstanding faculty and industry experts. If you are curious, passionate about innovation, and like solving problems, a Master of Information Systems will enhance your existing experience, help you achieve your goals, and advance your career.

Program Outcomes
In this program, your work is focused on problem-solving, student-focused experiences, and business or organization involvement. This master’s program is a one-year program requiring 33 credit hours. Six credit hours are dedicated to the extensive capstone project designed for the program by the sponsoring business or organization. The remaining credit hours are focused on advanced topics in information system design, development methodologies, database management systems, electronic business, and data communications. This program will prepare you to work in supply chain management jobs and careers or to continue your education with another graduate or doctoral degree. 

The B.S. in physics degree is designed for students who wish to gain a strong foundation in experimental and theoretical physics along with a solid background in mathematics that wish to pursue graduate school in physics or a related field, such as engineering, or directly enter the workforce and a career in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) related field.

Electrical engineers make big dreams into reality—in the areas of alternative energy, wireless communications, electronic surveillance, computing technology, and semiconductor devices. Electrical engineers are at the forefront of technological advances. Imagine being part of a team that uses a CCD array to create an artificial retina, or a non-tethered pacemaker the size of a vitamin pill. How about developing an alternative-energy system to give a rural homestead power and wireless access, or designing the next generation of autonomous vehicles that conserve energy, plan routes and eliminate collisions? Closer to home, you can imagine a system that monitors your grandmother’s health, automatically administers her medication, and communicates remotely with care providers to allow her to live safely and with confidence in her own home.

Course work in the Bachelor of Arts in Earth and Environmental Sciences, Earth Sciences Concentration program combines lecture, lab, and field experiences with geology and the broader earth sciences, which include subjects such as water, soils, and atmosphere. Students pursuing the B.A. have wide latitude in their choice of coursework that allows them to supplement required courses with a broad sampling of other courses or to earn an additional credential such as a second major, a minor, or a certificate program.

Our graduate Electrical Engineering program is highly respected within the industry, and we have placed hundreds of graduates with major international corporations and research institutions. Students have the opportunity to conduct research in many areas, including robotics, VLSI circuit design, power electronics, microwave theory, control theory, sensor data fusion, and digital signal and image processing.
