The Master of Science in Mathematics degree program offers advanced mathematical training in the traditional areas of mathematics, yet is flexible enough to allow you to pursue interests in related areas of mathematics. You may select courses in algebra, analysis, combinatorics, and geometry, as well as differential equations, graph theory, numerical analysis, probability, and statistical theory. Individual interests and future goals determine the actual course of study, within the guidelines given below.

The M.S. in Mathematics degree requires 30 semester credits of coursework. These must include 16 credits of math classes numbered 7000 and above, including at least one two-course sequence. The remaining credits are taken from 6000 or 7000-level mathematics courses, as chosen in conjunction with an advisor. Graduates typically assume positions in teaching or business, or they may pursue further graduate training leading to the Ph.D. degree. The department makes provision for part-time degree candidates by offering all required courses in the late afternoon or evening.

The aerospace medicine Master of Science degree program is conducted by the Boonshoft School of Medicine’s Department of Community Health, Division of Aerospace Medicine. The program is the preventive medicine specialty that  promotes the health and functional well-being of pilots, astronauts and other flight crew members as well as all other people traveling in air or space. Our physician trainees endeavor to discover, prevent and manage various adverse  physiological responses of the normal healthy individual to the hostile aerospace environment, and learn to manage common medical problems associated with aerospace flights. Operationally related training includes life-support systems, aircraft and spacecraft accident investigation and aerospace human factors. Aerospace medical certification of pilots, astronauts and other flight crew members is also an important part of this training.

Program Learning Outcomes
The learning outcomes are centered on graduate pass rate for the American Board of Preventive Medicine - Aerospace Medicine certification exam.

Electrical engineers make big dreams into reality—in the areas of alternative energy, wireless communications, electronic surveillance, computing technology, and semiconductor devices. Electrical engineers are at the forefront of technological advances. Imagine being part of a team that uses a CCD array to create an artificial retina, or a non-tethered pacemaker the size of a vitamin pill. How about developing an alternative-energy system to give a rural homestead power and wireless access, or designing the next generation of autonomous vehicles that conserve energy, plan routes and eliminate collisions? Closer to home, you can imagine a system that monitors your grandmother’s health, automatically administers her medication, and communicates remotely with care providers to allow her to live safely and with confidence in her own home.

The Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering offers a graduate program leading to a Master of Science in Engineering (M.S.) in materials science and engineering and a Ph.D. in Engineering with a focus in materials and nanotechnology. The graduate programs are broad in scope, emphasizing the interdisciplinary nature of the field of materials science and engineering. The program is built around processing, structure, properties, and performance of advanced materials relevant to numerous areas of application, such as biomedical, energy, aerospace, environmental, and manufacturing.

The objectives of the Public Health degree center around programmatic learning goals and core skills that not only provide an in-depth science education but aid students in developing skills necessary for future careers. These include:

• Students will be able to differentiate and define of structures and objectives of public health, including the history and philosophy of public health, key achievements, and explain the organization of the U.S. public health system and across the glo
• Students will demonstrate comprehension of a foundational science education including epidemiology, health and disease, social and behavioral sciences, biological and life sciences, anatomy and physiology, chemistry, statistics, and scientific writing.

• Students will apply leadership, communication skills, and community and public health knowledge through experiential learning activities including internships, service-learning projects, capstone senior seminars, research papers, honors theses, or other scholarly, cumulative, and integrative applied experiences to support academic and career goals.

Our program was the first business school program in Ohio accredited by the Computer Accreditation Commission of Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) and one of the first twenty programs nationally to achieve this accreditation. Program Outcomes
In this program, you will get a broad education in core business skills such as accounting, finance, marketing, management, and operations management along with emphasizing business and organizational studies and information systems technology. You will study business systems analysis, business system design, and computer programming. You will also focus on developing, implementing, and maintaining information systems in a variety of organizational environments. Coursework includes information system design, development methodologies, database management systems, electronic business, and data communications.

A financial services degree will give you the analytical skills needed to deliver advice and financial products to individuals and institutions. Our curriculum gives you a strong foundation in all aspects of personal financial management and is designed to meet the growing need for graduates who are knowledgeable in all relevant areas.

The financial services program is registered with the Certified Financial Planner Board and nearly every graduate of the program is placed in an appropriate internship or job opportunity after graduation.

Program Outcomes
If you complete the program, you will graduate with a Bachelor in Business with a major in financial services. Core coursework focuses on all areas of personal financial management, including investments, insurance, tax planning, retirement planning, real estate, estate planning, and personal financial planning. If you complete the financial services major and the relevant elective classes, you will be eligible to sit for the CFP exam.

The Bachelor of Science curriculum in Chemistry approaches students' educational endeavors with a broad, integrated, and in-depth view. Departmental requirements, combined with university core requirements and electives, offer a balanced course load for students. This provides undergraduates with the opportunity to explore where their interests in the science field will lead them. This option combines all the required courses for admission to a professional school, which includes two years of chemistry, one year of physics, one year of mathematics, while utilizing recommended courses as science electives to fulfill the bachelor's requirements. This option allows students the freedom to explore their interests in many of the careers listed

The goal of the program is to train students in modern electrical and computer engineering design skills, with the objective of post-graduation employment in a related field.  This will be achieved through attainment of the following student outcomes, as specified by the ABET Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission.  Each of these outcomes is addressed in one or more curricular requirements of the program.
