The objective of the accountancy major is to educate students for professional careers in public, industrial, governmental, and not-forprofit accounting. To this end, the program provides a broad educational experience for students and gives them a background for completing professional accounting examinations such as the CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) and CMA (Certified Management Accountant). Accountancy majors may consider a minor in either management information systems or computing and information technology. Contact an advisor in computer science for details on the CIT minor. Students interested in financial management are encouraged to complete a series of accountancy and finance courses designed to prepare them for the CFM (Certified Financial Manager) exam. This major also provides an excellent undergraduate background for a degree in law.

Students who plan to take the CPA (Certified Public Accountant) exam should pursue the Master of Accountancy program upon completion of the bachelor program in order to meet the education requirements of the Accountancy Board of Ohio.

Transfer students who major in accountancy should note that at least 20 credit hours of their accountancy courses must be taken at Wright State.

The department has a chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, the national accountancy honorary fraternity.

The Theatre Studies program combines studies in theatrical subjects with broad preparation in the liberal arts to prepare students for a wide range of careers. Graduates have gone on to pursue careers in professional theatre, education, public service, and countless other fields. Because of the focused curriculum, the Theatre Studies program allows the student to take a second major or to pursue minor concentrations in two or three other academic areas.

Due to the strength of Wright State’s theatre production program, the Theatre Studies student can acquire a high level of both practical and theoretical knowledge and experience, a distinction not afforded theatre students in programs with less extensive production emphases.

Theatre Studies students are encouraged to diversify their education in a variety of disciplines. The major in Theatre Studies is generally considered to be preparation for further study at the graduate level.

The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology has a distinguished history for providing the best in graduate and medical education. Our faculty is engaged in cutting-edge research spanning many areas such as dermatology, metabolism, immunology, cell biology, cancer, and cardiovascular diseases. Our curriculum is firmly rooted in the areas of leadership, research techniques, and translational medicine.

Classics is the study of the cultures of ancient Greece and Rome. Both cultures have had a profound influence on life in the western world, especially in the areas of language and literature, art and architecture, politics and religion, science and philosophy. The Classics department at Wright State offers classes in most of these areas.

The Latin major allows students to focus primarily on the study of Latin language, literature, and culture. Students are required to take 7 semesters of Latin language. Additional electives cover courses in a diverse range of subjects relating to the study of the Classical world.

Students interested in teaching Latin major in Latin and enroll in the Latin Licensure program, which the Classics Department offers in conjunction with Wright State’s College of Education and Human Services.

Program Outcomes
Students in the Latin program will:

The thesis option is for students who need or desire the full range of professional experience, including intensive research and writing. This option assures training in research techniques and in the preparation of scholarly papers. It culminates in the preparation and defense of a thesis based on original research. The student's program of study is an initiation into methods of focused study and research in a selected area of physiology or neuroscience.

The course option allows the student to plan a program of study that, along with the degree requirements, satisfies his or her educational needs and career objectives. This might be to extend knowledge for a current position, or as preparation for one of many health professions. The student's program of study typically culminates with two scientific writing courses broadly in the areas of Physiology and/or Neuroscience.

The objectives of the Public Health degree center around programmatic learning goals and core skills that not only provide an in-depth science education but aid students in developing skills necessary for future careers. These include:

• Students will be able to differentiate and define of structures and objectives of public health, including the history and philosophy of public health, key achievements, and explain the organization of the U.S. public health system and across the glo

The mathematics component of the Bachelor of Arts program surveys the classical areas of mathematics—analysis, algebra, and geometry—and their history. Courses in statistics and in computer science provide a taste of two relatively young branches of the mathematical sciences. In addition, a broad choice of electives allows you to either pursue greater depth in one of these areas, or to sample a broader range of courses in mathematics, statistics, and computing.

The Bachelor of Arts program features breadth and flexibility. For instance, there is a Related Course Requirement specifically designed to accommodate subject matter outside the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, and even outside both the College of Science and Mathematics and the College of Engineering and Computer Science. Qualified graduates of the bachelor's program are eligible for examinations to achieve advanced standing in master's degree programs. The MS in Marketing Analytics and Insights (MS MAI) program is designed to provide graduate students with a strong base in marketing strategy, consumer behavior, and especially marketing analysis and insights. The program will provide students with the fundamental skills and tools to extract and analyze marketing data, and the opportunity to generate real-world interpretation, insights, and recommendations.
