Program Outcomes
The marketing program prepares you to work in both business-to-business and business-to-consumer organization. You will learn about the motivations and behaviors and motivations of consumers, how to impact those behaviors, and how to satisfy your costumers sustainably. Learn to create, communicate, and sell, with a thorough foundation in global issues, digital technologies, and data insights. We will teach you how to apply the marketing concepts and planning taught in the classroom in real-world situations.

Businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies are increasingly relying on data to drive decision-making, increase productivity and profitability. Every action we take, from donating blood to buying groceries, is recorded and analyzed to better serve you. Graduates who can make sound decisions when choosing, implementing, and using these systems are in high demand locally, nationally, and globally.

Our program was the first business school program in Ohio accredited by the Computer Accreditation Commission of Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) and one of the first twenty programs nationally to achieve this accreditation. Program Outcomes
In this program, you will get a broad education in core business skills such as accounting, finance, marketing, management, and operations management along with emphasizing business and organizational studies and information systems technology. You will study business systems analysis, business system design, and computer programming. You will also focus on developing, implementing, and maintaining information systems in a variety of organizational environments. Coursework includes information system design, development methodologies, database management systems, electronic business, and data communications.

The program in selected studies allows students to pursue a self-designed course of study. It is intended for students with a definite educational objective that is not met by the majors presently offered by the College of Liberal Arts. While the program is free from several traditional requirements, students must meet other requirements and procedures to obtain the degree.

Students are eligible for the program after they complete 33 credit hours. With the help of program sponsors, students formulate a contract outlining their study goals and reserving at least 32 credit hours for courses that help accomplish those goals. The contract is evaluated and approved by the program committee.

Philosophy is worth studying because, as Socrates is credited with saying, the unexamined life is not worth living. By challenging you to analyze concepts clearly and evaluate evidence and arguments critically, philosophy hones your analytical reasoning skills, stimulates your intellectual creativity, and enriches your understanding of yourself, others, and the world. It makes your life more intellectually interesting and rewarding.

• You love discussing ethical questions: How should we live? What are the values that make life meaningful? How should society be organized?
• You want to read what the great philosophers have written about these questions, and try to formulate your own answers.

Professionally bound students may select BFAs in either Acting or Musical Theatre. These degrees both require students to master fundamental skills in Acting, Movement, Voice and Speech. Acting students continue with focus on a wide range of contemporary and period styles, with intensive focus in classical acting, stage combat and vocal skills. Musical Theatre students continue with a range of courses focusing on the broad ranger of styles from operetta to the most contemporary works. Musical Theatre majors study dance daily and intensive vocal performance. The professional acting and musical theatre programs are each an intensive, four-year progression of studies in acting, voice, movement, dance, and singing. Because courses in the Acting and Musical Theatre acting programs follow a set sequence, students are generally admitted only in the fall quarter. The Professional Actor Training Program is limited by audition to only selected, superior students who show promise of high achievement in acting and/or musical theatre. Retention in the Professional Actor Training Program is determined by periodic review. Students are retained in the program based on their growth and development as judged by the acting faculty

The Bachelor of Science curriculum offers a broad, integrated, and in-depth approach to the life sciences. Departmental requirements consist of a balanced core of courses selected from several subject areas, combined with elective courses from the Department of Biological Sciences and other life science departments such as Neuroscience, Cell Biology and Physiology, and Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. This degree program can accommodate students with such differing interests and objectives as graduate work in molecular biology, laboratory work in microbiology, or field work in ecology. The B.S. degree also can serve as preprofessional preparation for programs such as medical, dental, or veterinary sciences, or for education licensure.

Biological Sciences Program Learning Objectives

• Students completing a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences will be able to:
• Demonstrate proficiency in the knowledge of essential concepts of biology at molecular, organismal, and ecosystem scales.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the knowledge of concepts in chemistry and physics necessary to understand the foundations of biology.
• Utilize mathematics and statistics to apply quantitative reasoning to biological concepts.
• Evaluate data using quantitative analysis and graphical representation.
• Apply observational strategies, formulate testable hypotheses, and design experiments with appropriate controls and variables.
• Exhibit problem solving skills and trouble-shoot procedures.
• Effectively communicate biological concepts and interpretations to varied audiences orally and in writing.
• Discuss the ethical implications of biological understanding and discoveries.

The mathematics component of the Bachelor of Arts program surveys the classical areas of mathematics—analysis, algebra, and geometry—and their history. Courses in statistics and in computer science provide a taste of two relatively young branches of the mathematical sciences. In addition, a broad choice of electives allows you to either pursue greater depth in one of these areas, or to sample a broader range of courses in mathematics, statistics, and computing.

The Bachelor of Arts program features breadth and flexibility. For instance, there is a Related Course Requirement specifically designed to accommodate subject matter outside the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, and even outside both the College of Science and Mathematics and the College of Engineering and Computer Science. The Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering offers a program of graduate study leading to a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (M.S.). The M.S. program is broad in scope and emphasizes portable concepts in the design and analysis of complex physical systems using modeling, synthesis, and optimization techniques, and bridges interdisciplinary engineering areas such as controls, robotics, electronics, and communications.

The master’s program offers you a broad education in accountancy-related topics, allowing you to work in a variety of business industries, governmental agencies, or non-profit organizations. The demand for graduates educated in accountancy is growing in a complex and competitive business environment.

Our Master of Accountancy program helps you meet the requirements to take the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam. Graduates of our Master of Accountancy program consistently perform above the national average for passing the CPA exam and our graduates usually post pass rates that are among the top rates of any program in the state of Ohio.  

Program Outcomes
If you complete the program, you will graduate with a Master of Accountancy degree. You will have a broad educational experience for completing professional accounting exams such as the Certified Internal Auditor or Certified Management Accountant exams, as well as meet the requirements to take the CPA exam. This program also provides an excellent background for students interested in pursuing a law degree in the future.
