Electrical engineers make big dreams into reality—in the areas of alternative energy, wireless communications, electronic surveillance, computing technology, and semiconductor devices. Electrical engineers are at the forefront of technological advances. Imagine being part of a team that uses a CCD array to create an artificial retina, or a non-tethered pacemaker the size of a vitamin pill. How about developing an alternative-energy system to give a rural homestead power and wireless access, or designing the next generation of autonomous vehicles that conserve energy, plan routes and eliminate collisions? Closer to home, you can imagine a system that monitors your grandmother’s health, automatically administers her medication, and communicates remotely with care providers to allow her to live safely and with confidence in her own home.

Management focuses on getting things done. Managers directly support the efforts of other people in business and organizations, including planning, organizing, leading, and controlling activities. Managers focus on achieving the goals of the business or organization while being accountable for performance results.

High-performing managers are good at building working relationships with others. They help co-workers and employees develop skills, foster teamwork, and create a work environment both satisfying for employees while pursuing the business or organization’s goals. Many of our management majors also double major in human resource management or complete the certificate in human resources.

Program Outcomes
When you complete the program, you will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Business with a major in management. The first two years of the program ground students in the essential, concrete skills needed as business students while the final two years focus on management skills.

You will grasp basic principles of the structure, design, and language of music in its historical and cultural contexts while studying music history and literature at Wright State. You can better understand the music you hear, perform, and create. This major is not a terminal degree, and you should expect to continue at the graduate level. Please consult with the appropriate faculty advisor before entering this program.

The Master of Science degree program in applied mathematics gives you a thorough introduction to application-oriented mathematics. The objectives of the program are:

• Develop your ability to analyze and solve a variety of real-world problems
• Increase your understanding of specific problems encountered in other fields

You may tailor your program to emphasize discrete or continuous mathematics, or probability and statistics. Coursework in an area of application, such as computer science, engineering, or physics is also encouraged. You may choose to complete a modeling project as part of your program.

The applied mathematics degree requires 30 semester credits of course work. The program is designed primarily to prepare you for a career in business, industry, or government, but can be tailored to provide a solid foundation for doctoral studies in mathematics. The department makes provision for part-time degree candidates by offering all required courses in the late afternoon or evening.

The Master of Science program, leading to the M.S. degree, gives the student a broad base of fundamental theory and concentrated study in a particular area of specialization. This program is designed for the student who either desires a career in industry or government or wants to pursue further graduate study. Each student does experimental or theoretical research in an area of interest and writes a thesis.

The goal of the program is to train students in modern electrical and computer engineering design skills, with the objective of post-graduation employment in a related field.  This will be achieved through attainment of the following student outcomes, as specified by the ABET Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission.  Each of these outcomes is addressed in one or more curricular requirements of the program.

Businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies require people skilled in supply chain management to coordinate the flow of materials, finances, and information within and between companies. Supply chain management specialists improve service for customers while reducing costs for employers and you will study the strategies that make business, nonprofits, and governments competitive within a global economy.

Supply chain management graduates have a high chance of placement in an internship or job immediately after graduation and the skills learned as part of your degree will make you competitive for increasingly important positions. If you are curious, passionate about innovation, and like solving problems, a degree in supply chain management will prepare you to excel in a wide variety of career paths and industries.

Program Outcomes
If you complete this program, you will graduate with a Bachelor in Business with a major in supply chain management. In this program, you will get a broad education in core business skills such as accounting, finance, marketing, management, and operations management along with emphasizing effective management of production and service operations. You will study concepts and strategies that help businesses and organization stay competitive in the world economy, including management tools and analytic techniques, such as forecasting, purchasing, and logistics, inventory management, production scheduling, and quality manufacturing practices.

Our program covers three primary areas: basic problem solving and data analysis tools, major concepts and strategies for managing people, materials, and production resources, and the integration of the supply function into overall business or organizational strategy. This program will prepare you to work in supply chain management jobs and careers or to continue your education with a graduate or doctoral degree.

The B.S. Degree Program in Earth and Environmental Sciences, Earth Sciences Concentration is designed to provide the knowledge, skills, and experience required for graduate study and to prepare students for professional careers in a variety of fields including energy resources, water resources, environmental protection, and environmental site investigation and remediation.

Wright State University prepares technical production experts, designers and stage managers to succeed in professional theatre and film production. Our Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degree in Theatre Design and Technology offers a wide range of courses, four years of outstanding production opportunities, and state-of-the-art facilities. Our students’ work is highlighted in the campus productions of one of the top-tier performing arts programs in the nation, as well as for our award-winning Motion Pictures program.

Design and Technology faculty members are both working professionals and teachers, with active careers as technicians and artists in regional theatre companies, national conferences, and schools. They share their expertise as they work side by side with students on every aspect of production design and management.

Students may choose to concentrate in stage management, design or technology. With any track, our comprehensive program incorporates general theatre arts coursework with artistic design and theatre technology.

After four years of specialized training, our graduates are prepared to work in theater, opera and dance companies, television and movie studios, performing arts centers, and recording studios. Wright State alumni are currently employed at leading performance venues in such major entertainment centers as New York, Las Vegas, Chicago, and Orlando.
