The Graduate Diploma of Research Studies in Science is an 80 credit point program that provides an alternative route for entry into a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) program for applicants who do not possess the required qualifications for direct admission.

Upon successful completion of the program, students will be eligible to apply for admission to MPhil or PhD candidature subject to fulfilment of requirements for candidature as specified in the Higher Degree Research policy and successful completion of the confirmation procedure. The grade achieved will determine entry to either a PhD or MPhil candidature.

The Program Director will be responsible for the overall supervision of the student and monitoring their progress throughout the program.

Students may choose to exit the Graduate Diploma program (after successfully completing the specified courses) with the Graduate Certificate in Research Studies in Science.

In your first year, you'll develop a strong foundation in basic science and engineering principles. You'll study a range of engineering areas, letting you decide which area interests you the most. If you are from a non-accounting background or do not have a CPA Australia accredited undergraduate degree with a major in accounting, the Master of Professional Accounting conversion program will give you the training in accounting and related areas needed to meet the academic requirements for Associate membership with CPA Australia and admission to CPA Australia's CPA Program, and the CA Program of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

This program will enable you to develop the technical and conceptual skills needed to become an accountant and will develop your ability to analyse, critique and synthesise various accounting and related principles, methods and techniques. This program will also provide academic support to help you prepare for CPA Australia's CPA Program and ACCA's professional level examinations.

The program has a foundation component (Graduate Certificate) which allows those without a prior degree in Professional Accounting (or equivalent) and those looking for a career change to participate. Those with qualifications and experience in the field can also enter the program and progress to the advanced level study.

Combining business with psychological science can give you the skills and knowledge needed to work as a specialist providing advice to organisations on management and personnel issues, and helping them develop training programs, set policies, or manage organisational change.

The Graduate Diploma of Law Research Studies is an 80 credit point program designed to provide graduates in the Law discipline with the opportunity to undertake advanced study in research methodology and to undertake supervised research work, in the discipline area appropriate to their research trajectory.

The program will also be available to students who wish to undertake advanced studies in the identified disciplinary fields, but who may not wish to progress to MPhil or PhD study.

You'll have the freedom to tailor your degree around your interests in your foundation first year before gaining specialist knowledge and abilities - based on your chosen majors - throughout the remainder of your studies.

This degree sits within both the humanities and science departments, offering you a broad choice of majors from either study area. You'll gain specialised skills and practical knowledge in the biological, clinical, chemical, physical or mathematical sciences, paired with the creative thinking and perspective of your chosen arts major.

To be awarded a Bachelor of Business (Honours) degree, one additional year of study is required following the successful completion of the Bachelor of Business.

In the Honours year, you will complete courses to develop your research skills and a 20,000-word dissertation. Your dissertation topic will be decided in consultation with academic staff members and will focus on a topic or theme related to the stream of study you choose.
