The Bachelor of Science Advanced (Honours) caters for students who have demonstrated outstanding potential in the field of science. This degree follows the Bachelor of Science degree, giving you the opportunity to engage in research early by taking one Advanced Studies course each trimester.

You'll undertake a major research project and be individually guided and mentored by one or more of our outstanding scientific researchers. The wants and needs of a rapidly expanding, global population means it has never been more important to shape our environmental future. Environmental engineering is your pathway to protecting the natural environment and its resources by ensuring that we minimise the adverse effect we may have on it. In this program you will develop an understanding of complex environmental problems and issues, and of the challenges facing environmental sustainability. You will learn to design creative engineering solutions and manage key projects associated with environmental protection in the area of solid and hazardous waste management, air quality monitoring and control, water and wastewater treatment, and renewable energy. You will develop the skills to incorporate sustainability concepts into engineering work practices from various discipline backgrounds.

If you are from a non-accounting background or do not have a CPA Australia accredited undergraduate degree with a major in accounting, the Master of Professional Accounting conversion program will give you the training in accounting and related areas needed to meet the academic requirements for Associate membership with CPA Australia and admission to CPA Australia's CPA Program, and the CA Program of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

This program will enable you to develop the technical and conceptual skills needed to become an accountant and will develop your ability to analyse, critique and synthesise various accounting and related principles, methods and techniques. This program will also provide academic support to help you prepare for CPA Australia's CPA Program and ACCA's professional level examinations.

The program has a foundation component (Graduate Certificate) which allows those without a prior degree in Professional Accounting (or equivalent) and those looking for a career change to participate. Those with qualifications and experience in the field can also enter the program and progress to the advanced level study.

In this specialised double degree, students will learn about the causes of crime and society's response to it, whilst developing a core of IT technical knowledge related to Information Systems and Network Security.

Graduates of the program will have a broad and coherent body of knowledge in the fields of criminology and criminal justice, including an in-depth understanding of various theoretical frameworks underpinning the study of criminal behaviour, victimisation and criminal justice responses to crime, and crime prevention.

Additionally, students will have a broad and coherent body of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) knowledge, with depth in the underlying principles and concepts in ICT problem solving (i.e., how to use modelling methods and processes to understand problems, handle abstraction and design solutions), ICT professional knowledge (i.e., ethics, professionalism, teamwork concepts and issues, interpersonal communication, societal issues/legal issues/privacy, history and status of discipline), technology building (i.e., programming and human-computer interaction), and/or technology resources (i.e., hardware and software fundamentals, data and information management, and networking).

This double degree prepares students for scientific practice or for business and management roles in technical, regulatory, environmental, health or biomedical oriented businesses, industries or government organisations. Students choose from a range of science and business majors in accordance with their interests and career plans.

Combining business with psychological science can give you the skills and knowledge needed to work as a specialist providing advice to organisations on management and personnel issues, and helping them develop training programs, set policies, or manage organisational change.
