We have designed our Bachelor of Psychological Science to be a rich, flexible, and highly engaging learning experience. It will shed light on how humans work, individually and in sociocultural groups, and will take you inside your own head –to develop a deep and real understanding of your own thoughts, emotions, and behaviour. It will take you across many different fields of psychological practice –many you will never have considered. The Bachelor of Legal and Justice Studies is an excellent degree for those wanting to work in policy development, paralegal positions, conveyancing, and in the justice sector. It provides a thorough practical grounding in legal knowledge and a strong understanding of Australian and international politics and society. If you have already been working professionally in the fields of law and justice, this course will extend your knowledge, skills and expertise. The conveyancing major, which is accredited by New South Wales Fair Trading, enables you to become a licenced conveyancer in NSW.

Accounting

Leading a large infrastructure project takes a huge amount of skill and expertise in both business and engineering disciplines — from understanding the financials, to managing staff and resources, all with incredibly effective communication.

This unique two-year double degree is offered at our beachside Gold Coast campus on the doorstep of an international airport. It is taught by industry experts to prepare you as an innovator and leader.

Hone your skills in project and strategic asset management, stakeholder engagement, accounting and economics, and managing digital enterprises. Undertake a research investigation and complete a significant project on a topic you can apply to real world problems.

The Bachelor of Education qualifies you to be a teacher in Australia, and many countries overseas. Our evidence-based course draws on the Faculty of Education’s leadership and research in teacher education that is responsive to local and global contexts.
 
Graduates will be qualified as a teacher in one of the following five areas:

• Early Childhood/Primary (6 weeks to Year 6);
• Primary (Kindergarten/Prep to Year 6); English Primary Specialisation and specialisation in Science and Maths available
• Primary/Secondary (English Primary Specialisation and one Secondary specialisation);
• Secondary (Two teaching specialisations); or
• Secondary: Design and Technology (choose from Industrial Technology, or Food and Fibre, plus one Secondary specialisation).

The first year of the course provides a distinctive foundation with excellent grounding in literacy, numeracy, and subject content, as well as issues in contemporary education.
 
Within the four-year full-time equivalent degree (or 3.5 years fast tracked*), you also undertake core learning in Indigenous education, sustainability, inclusive (special) education, along with curriculum and pedagogy learning across disciplines.

Secondary

 In this specialisation, you choose two teaching subjects from the full range of secondary subjects.

Ideal for students who are looking to work in aviation including pilots, cabin crew, logistics, transport, infrastructure, retail and customer service. Includes the opportunity to obtain a Commercial Pilots Licence.

Entrepreneurship and Innovation

Develops your entrepreneurial ideas to create your own business, social enterprise or work on entrepreneurial ideas within larger organisations.

Up to eight units advanced standing will be available for the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care. You may be able to gain advanced standing for previous study. This will depend on what previous study you have done. Advanced standing assessments are undertaken through MySCU, or upon enrolment.
There is a very high demand for qualified early childhood educators in early childhood education centres and preschools.
This three-year degree (or 2.5 years fast tracked*) is an ACECQA approved early childhood teacher qualification for early childhood settings with children from birth to five years. [Please check specific requirements in your state or territory for early childhood teachers.]
 
Our cutting-edge course draws on the Faculty of Education’s leading research in early childhood education and development.
 
Core units cover early childhood principles and practices, child development theory and application, supporting children’s learning and pedagogical approaches for early childhood education. You will also investigate contemporary issues in early childhood education, leadership and management; the arts, and health and wellbeing in the early childhood environment.
 
Up to eight units advanced standing will be available for the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, or equivalent.
 
You’ll complete 85 days of professional teaching experiences as part of your degree in a range of early childhood environments, enabling you to apply your theoretical knowledge in real world educational settings.
