This field links engineering to the analysis of living organisms. Bioinformatics engineers develop technologies and software that are used to analyse and interpret biological data. Bioinformatics engineers work in research areas in the pharmaceutical industry, medical technology, biotechnology, computational biology, proteomics, computer information science, and medical informatics.
