The Computerized Accounting and Office program provides students with basic accounting and computerized accounting skills in all phases of the accounting cycle. With these skills, students will be qualified for junior positions in most organizations. Brighton College has partnered with the Canadian Payroll Association (CPA), to deliver the Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certification (PCP) certification courses.

Brighton College has partnered with The Canadian Payroll Association (CPA), to deliver the Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certification (PCP) certification courses. The process consists of three courses from the Association and Introduction to Accounting from the college. Once the student passes the three CPA exams and pays the transfer fee for the Introduction to Accounting mark, they will be considered a PCP Candidate. Effective January 1, 2015, individuals who wish to obtain the Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification must have at least one year of weighted payroll experience obtained within five years prior or five years after the start of the Payroll Compliance Legislation course. The student must pay the membership fee when the student applies for certification. For more information regarding fees please visit www.payroll.ca. Students who do not wish to obtain the Payroll Compliance Certification may enroll in the Brighton College payroll courses. Students will be evaluated with Brighton College payroll assignments and exam.

The Green Building and Sustainable Design Diploma program equips students with essential skills for pursuing a career in the fields of green building design, planning, construction and maintenance. Program curriculum will cover a contemporary range of building design strategies and technologies, with an emphasis on those that reduce environmental impacts and make local buildings healthier and more livable. Major topics include architectural design strategies, high level computer-aided drafting techniques, building information modeling (BIM), energy modeling, and core sustainable building concepts such as effective building envelope design, the assessment of energy efficiency, LEED®? project management and documentation strategies, and the application of modern and upcoming green building standards (e.g. Passive Housing).

Upon completion of the program, students will be prepared to challenge the Natural Resource Canada (NRCan) Foundation Level Exam and EnerGuide Rating System v.15 Energy Advisor Exam. These exams are administered through external agencies and are not required for program graduation. However, students interested in pursuing the exams will receive a voucher. Successful exam-takers have the opportunity to become NRCan-recognized Energy Advisors upon becoming affiliated with a service organization, where they can become certified to assess energy performance and potential energy savings for homes during the design, construction, and renovation stages.

Brighton College has partnered with the Educational Institute of the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA) to deliver a well-rounded, proven curriculum designed to provide initial employment skills with the potential for future management growth. This program focuses on general business management concepts taught in the context of the hospitality industry. It covers critical areas such as Supervision, Human Resources, Accounting and Sales and Marketing.

Upon completion of this program the successful student will have the ability to:
