Choose from transfer courses in more than 30 different subject areas. These courses will transfer to at least one BC post-secondary institution.
Whether you want to take one or two courses at a time, or register for full-time studies with four or five courses each semester, the University Transfer program gives you the freedom to design your own timetable. Generally speaking, you'll probably start by taking 100-level courses (first-year) and follow up with corresponding 200-level (second-year) courses.

Students who wish to work in Canada require a work permit to do so. A student in Canada can work part-time during the course of his studies and full-time during holidays and semester breaks and post the completion of their course/program.
You can also work part-time on campus at your university.
Duration
Your part-time work permit will be valid for as long as you have a valid study permit.

As a full-time student, you can work for a maximum of 20 hours a week. However, you can work full- time during holidays and breaks.

Diploma in Applied Chemistry and Biotechnology (Internship Optional)
Camosun College offers a diploma in the field of Allied Chemistry and Biotechnology for students who are intrigued by scientific discoveries and research work. The aforementioned diploma is an undergraduate course for a period of 24 months and has produced some great professionals in the field of scientific research. The students also have an option of transferring to a British Columbia University as a third year student.
Students get the opportunity of working in a wide range of labs, including those associated with biomedical and health-related biotechnology, forestry, fisheries, mining, agriculture, oceanography and the environment. In the two years of the ACBT program students are provided hand on training on lab equipment and lab safety techniques. During the first year of the diploma there are a total of three terms and introductory education in fields like chemistry, biochemistry and microbiology. Students are also trained in lab safety procedures, good lab practices, lap technicality as well as precautionary measures.
The second year of the diploma involves a solid understanding of modern tricks and techniques in the field of biotechnology, biochemistry and other fields pertaining to research. The students are also open to an optional internship program that provides major laboratory experience and enhances their diploma with an edge of professional work.

Get started in the lab
In the two-year ACBT program, you'll get hands-on training in lab safety and technique. The program will prepare you for a career in lab work or transfer into the third year of a bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry or microbiology.
What to expect
Located at our Lansdowne campus, the ACBT program is two years long. You'll spend lots of time in the lab, giving you the practical skills that employers look for. In addition to developing your scientific knowledge, you'll have the opportunity to carry out a major project at an external lab as part of an optional internship. For part-time students, you'll arrange a personal learning plan with the Program Chair to modify the full-time schedule for your own flexible program.
Year 1
In your first year, you will take three academic terms (fall, winter and spring). Courses include a foundation in biology, chemistry, English, math and physics.
Year 2
Build on your solid fundamental understanding of modern techniques in biotechnology with two more terms to deepen your skills in chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology and immunology.

Associate of Arts in General Arts (Co-op/Internship)
The flexible General Arts program offers you a two-year grounding in the arts. Build the program that interests you by choosing courses that fit your educational goals. You can also choose to specialize with five options within the Associate of Arts degree, including English, economics, social work or psychology.
What you'll learn
Camosun's General Arts associate degree program is offered by the School of Arts & Science. This two-year, 20-course program will give you a well-rounded education in the general arts.
As a graduate, you can choose to continue your studies with a bachelor's degree. You'll also be ready for any career that requires good communications skills and wide general knowledge. This AD can also lead to a full block transfer to Royal Roads University's Bachelor of Arts in Professional Communication program.
Work experience option
As an Associate Degree student, you can gain practical work experience through Co-op or an Internship. Work terms may be paid or unpaid, and are available after you've completed at least eight courses. Choose between one four-month internship or two work terms with co-operative education.

Associate of Arts in Pre-Social Work (Co-op/Internship)

What you'll learn
Camosun College offers a two-year associate degree designed to help you pursue a career in social work. Your associate degree will include a a range of integrated courses, including sociology, psychology, women's studies, Indigenous studies, social policy and English.
As an associate degree student, you will have access to excellent academic advice; you'll have a definite learning path, but with room to explore along the way.
Work experience option
Associate Degree programs include either a Co-op or Internship option. Students will gain practical work experience, which may be paid or unpaid, through either a four-month internship or two co-op work terms, available after at least eight courses of academic study.

Camosun College has an Associate of Science Degree program in General Science that is offered by the School of Arts & Science. It is a 20 course program that helps a student gain a wholesome education in the field of General Science. Once students graduate from the AD program they can choose to continue their education by pursuing a bachelor’s degree and furthering their education. This program prepares students by providing them salubrious education in the field of science and providing them with the best kind of academic counseling.
The AD program also offers students a choice of choosing between a co-operative education program and an internship. Bothe of these programs help students gain professional experience and hence prepare them for the future. Students can seek transfer to a better educational institution across British Columbia such as a university. The Royal Roads University offers such courses in the School of Environmental Sustainability.

Camosun offers courses in basic English language skills to get you started. More advanced courses prepare you for further studies at college or university, career programs and professional communication in the Canadian workplace. You can progress rapidly by taking ELD-Level 2 courses at the same time as other college courses. Graduates credit their studies at Camosun for academic success in later college and university programs.
Level 1: ELD level 1 courses are for beginning and pre-intermediate students who have a fundamental and developing knowledge of English. Emphasis is on development of speaking and listening skills with an introduction to reading comprehension and written composition.
Level 2: ELD level 2 courses focus on the development of advanced academic English language skills needed to gain entry into college-level programs or technical and professional English language skills needed in the Canadian workplace.
