This program trains you for entry-level employment as an engineering technologist in the electrical industry, which provides a broad range of employment opportunities. You develop the conceptual knowledge base and troubleshooting skills to prepare you for a range of roles that include design, installation, maintenance, production, and technical sales and support.

Topics in the program include:

• Use and application of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), variable frequency motor drives (VFDs), soft starters, and data communication to link all of the preceding elements for the control of manufacturing systems.
• Planning, designing, and specifications of power systems with motor protection for buildings and industrial plants. You will generate AutoCAD drawings, calculate short circuit currents, and coordinate fuses, circuit breakers, and protective relays. Canadian Electrical Code instruction is delivered by journeyman electricians.
• Hydro electric power generation, transmission, and distribution systems with a view to operation, control, and protection.
• Assessment of power system harmonics concerns by measuring TDD and THD and offering solutions to improve performance.

Note: First year of the program will be held at the Exchange District Campus before transferring to the main Notre Dame Campus for the rest of the program.

The Business Management post-graduate diploma provides a unique opportunity for professionals who want to advance their careers through the development of leadership and management knowledge and skills.  Students will apply theory to real-world situations through business simulations, case studies and group projects, using industry standard software in their courses. The combination of core and elective courses and culminating with an intensive work experience will prepare students for progression into career opportunities requiring strong leadership and management skills.

Students will develop competency in key management development skill areas with relevance to business and enterprise operations, business process improvement, sustainability of the supply chain and risk assessment and mitigation. Practical application and industry projects will further hone their business skills during the four-month Work Integrated experiential learning and produce confident graduates who have real work experience to incorporate into their resumes in search of career opportunities. 

Prepare for a range of career opportunities while exploring advanced technologies, including computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) programming, advanced multi-axis CNC machining, additive manufacturing (3D Printing) and robotics and automation. You will be able to gain hands-on training through a work practicum elective.

CO-OP/Practicum Information
An optional work integrated term that integrates classroom theory and shop experience with related on-the-job training. This program includes two weeks of unpaid work experience. This work integrated learning experience will help you to have credible experience in your profession before graduation.

Magnetic resonance uses magnetism, radio waves and computers to acquire medical images. Although still a young technology, it has become firmly rooted in medical practice, particularly for:

• Studying the cardiovascular system 
• Detecting tumours, especially in the brain and spinal column
• Studying body chemistry and functions
• Imaging soft tissues, such as muscles, tendons or arteries

The unique nature of this technology presents special imaging, patient care, and safety requirements. Since magnetic resonance does not involve the use of ionizing radiation, radiation protection is unnecessary.
Magnetic resonance scans require sliding patients into a body-length tunnel - the core of the magnetic field. The image obtained from magnetic resonance scan generally appears on a computer monitor, or as a photograph or computer printouts.

Upon successful completion of the program you will be able to competently plan learning experiences that stimulate the intellectual, physical, emotional, and social development of young children.

Business Administration provides the student with a broad business foundation during the first year of studies. During the second year of the program, the student will declare a major that focuses their studies in a particular area, either Accounting, Administration, Financial Services, Marketing or Human Resource Management.

Some courses focus on theoretical foundations, others will emphasize application of knowledge. Group projects are integral to many courses offered in this program.

This post-graduate diploma program is designed to help students prepare for the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) Canada designation. The program was developed from the CPA competency map that provides graduates with the opportunity to fill current and ongoing demand for accountants. Graduates can apply to use their post-graduate diploma credits for standing toward the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation. Students will gain a deeper understanding of accounting practices and principles; accounting management; taxation; communications; business law as it relates to finances and accounting.

This program provides the skills you need to gain employment in the production of pharmaceutical, biotechnology and food products. This program provides specialized training in the pharmaceutical and food industry through hands-on learning in our pilot scale production facilities. These facilities include Solid Dosage Manufacturing, Applied Biopharmaceutical Production, and Food Processing.

You will acquire the skills used to produce pharmaceutical products such as over-the-counter and prescription drugs, vaccines, analgesics, and antibiotics. Additionally, the program will provide hands-on training and skill development in food processing and manufacturing.

This program develops the skills and knowledge you need to effectively manage the health information required for patient care, administration, research, and education. The program trains you in the specialized techniques required in health information management. It offers a unique combination of medical, computer, and business courses.

You will complete a four month co-operative work term between year one and year two that will provide you with related and practical experience in the fields of architecture, engineering, and construction.
