Previously called Outdoor Power Equipment Technician. This program provides you with strong foundational skills and professional knowledge required as an entry-level technician in the Marine and Powersports industry. After graduating from the Marine and Powersports Technician program you will be prepared to enter an apprenticeship or entry-level position within the industry.

Potential employment opportunities include dealerships, rental agencies, construction companies, marinas, outfitter camps, golf courses, government agencies, and standalone repair facilities.

As a graduate, you will be able to service and repair common types of Marine and Powersports equipment including:

• Lawn and Garden Equipment

Training includes professional shop practices, precision measuring, preventative maintenance, diagnostic procedures, and repair procedures. Topics of study include safety, tools, engines, fuel systems, electrical systems, seasonal storage, new vehicle prep, performance, and tuning.

The Marine and Powersports Technician Program would like to recognize the manufacturers who make equipment, technical information, and training available to the program. The support from Yamaha and Polaris enables RRC to offer up to date training on modern equipment.

Students also have an option to receive an endorsement from the Yamaha's Technical Academy and the University of Polaris. The endorsement course available through the program is the Bronze Level course.To successfully complete the Bronze course, the student must pass online tests. These endorsements will help students with employment opportunities.

Training will take place at RRC’s Vehicle Technology and Research Centre, an environment that will give you the practical experience required for industry employment. You will also have the opportunity to acquire industry work experience as part of this program.

In this program, you will develop the knowledge, skills, and values required to support and enhance the development of persons with disabilities. The program focuses on 'community', and students will provide support to persons with disabilities in schools, homes, employment, and leisure settings. The program is offered as a workplace model which means that courses are offered in a block format and practica is integrated throughout the term. It also means that regular applicants will learn alongside individuals who are currently working in the field. 

As a student, you will learn how to assist persons with disabilities to plan and achieve their personal goals and maintain their health and well-being. You will understand how to promote the development of inclusive communities and display competent, responsible, and professional behaviour and attitudes. You will also have an opportunity to experience a variety of community settings through your fieldwork, or practicum, which makes up about one quarter of the program.

Prior to starting the program, you will be invited to attend a program information session. Although optional, it is highly recommended you attend. You may also be asked to participate in an individual interview.

Take this program to gain a broad business background if you do not meet the admission requirements for the two-year Business Administration program. This three-year program will help you develop a potential for supervision, management, and leadership through the study of business-related programs and practical projects. With these foundations you may choose a career from a variety of job opportunities in the business community.

The modified pace in the first two years gives you additional time to upgrade your skills and knowledge and to meet your individual needs.  In the third year, you take courses along with students in the two-year Business Administration program.  Upon graduation you receive a Business Administration diploma.

This program is designed to increase your fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and help you to gain knowledge of Deaf culture and Deaf history so that you can effectively interact with Deaf individuals.

Deaf persons can benefit from this program by learning more about their own language, culture, and history.

• Inclusion of introductory ASL learning - no prerequisite courses required;
• "Bring Your Own Laptop" will allow students to access learning on demand.

Develop your distinctive style and technical skills with RRC's Professional Photography program. This program provides the knowledge and skills required to develop the technical and creative aspects of digital imaging and processing. Students will develop skills in digital image manipulation, lighting, SLR operation, exposure, composition, printing, editing, retouching and processing as well as foundational business skills. Through classroom discussions, projects, guest lecturers and field experiences, you will become knowledgeable in all areas of digital imaging and processing.

This post-graduate diploma program is designed to help students prepare for the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) Canada designation. The program was developed from the CPA competency map that provides graduates with the opportunity to fill current and ongoing demand for accountants. Graduates can apply to use their post-graduate diploma credits for standing toward the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation. Students will gain a deeper understanding of accounting practices and principles; accounting management; taxation; communications; business law as it relates to finances and accounting.

The Architectural Technology diploma program is a comprehensive, two year, direct entry program consisting of four 16-week semesters. You will complete a four month co-operative work term between year one and year two that will provide you with related and practical experience in the fields of architecture, engineering, and construction. Upon graduation from the program, career options available to you may include working with:

In the Architectural Technology program, you will experience a wide-ranging curriculum of courses that emphasize the learning and practical application of current design and constructions techniques. You will take advanced courses and build on competencies gained as you move from semester to semester. Courses include subjects such as:

Co-op work experience

• 4 month co-op work experience between year one and year two

Gain the knowledge and skills needed to work in therapeutic and leisure recreational programming and services for older adults. You will learn to plan, promote, deliver and evaluate effective programs for clientele in various settings, including: personal care homes, extended hospital care, adult day centres, assisted living and other community based programs.

Workplace safety, privacy and health regulations are key components of the program. You will be taught by industry-experienced instructors through integrated workplace experience and two field work placements.

Civil Engineering Technology is a cluster of diploma programs that provides students with career training in construction engineering, environmental engineering, and geomatics technologies.

During the first year, you will acquire generic competencies in common core courses in the following areas:

• Algebra and trigonometry (M)
• Chemistry
• Statics and strength of materials (M)

• Technical communications
• Computer applications
• Technical drafting

• General Safety Trainin

Important Advisory Note: Courses designated (M) are high in mathematical content.  If you have weak mathematical skills, or if you completed Essentials Math in high school (instead of the recommended Applied Math or Pre-Calculus Math), it is strongly recommended that you take the preparatory Mathematics for Technology course available throughout Continuing Education at RRC, prior to beginning the program.

Prior to starting the program, you will be invited to attend a program overview information session.  You will also be invited to participate in a math and reading skills diagnostic testing session that will advise you of your program readiness.  Although the diagnostic testing is optional, we strongly recommend that you participate.  Should your results be lower than a C (60%) you would benefit from taking the Mathematics for Technology course as a pre-program refresher.

After completion of the first year courses, you would then apply and develop these competencies during a six-month co-operative education work term.

In the second and third years*, you take more advanced courses and build on the competencies you gained in first year. The focus is on application and design. To enter into subsequent terms (both academic and co-op), and to graduate, you need a minimum cumulative term grade point average (CGPA) of 2.00.

This program provides you with the skills and knowledge to work with children and youth experiencing behavioural and emotional difficulties. You will learn how to intervene and assess situations and formulate strategies to help children, youth, and their families identify and resolve concerns and enhance their quality of life.

The program covers the dynamics of human development within a multicultural perspective. Courses include child and adolescent development, special issues affecting child and youth care, and care for children who have emotional or behavioural difficulties.

This program includes training in relationship development, group process, and family dynamics. It also includes skill-oriented family support and intervention courses, child and youth care methods, listening skills, and activities programming.
