This qualification will prepare you to be a veterinary nursing professional, providing you with the skills, knowledge and attributes needed to help animals attain, maintain or recover optimal health and quality of life. As a graduate you will also be able to practice sustainably and engage in on-going learning in the field.

This qualification will provide you with technical veterinary nursing skills in a clinical environment as well as the ability to manage patients and clients and follow protocols in all aspects of clinical veterinary practice.

The New Zealand Diploma in Veterinary Nursing recognises competence in a wide range of skills that enable you to become a functioning part of a veterinary team in a clinic or hospital through being able to:

• Provide surgical veterinary nursing
• Provide anaesthetic veterinary nursing
• Provide medical veterinary nursing
• Perform diagnostic sampling and medical imaging
• Be innovative and reflective in practice

The MIT is a Level 9 programme with a minimum of 180 or 240 credits. It enables those who have completed a Bachelors’ degree in Information Technology/Computing to achieve a postgraduate level qualification in Information Technology.

The programme can be completed in two years (240 credits) or 18 months (180 credits) full-time or up to eight years part-time, depending on your previous study and experience and specific course preferences.  It is designed to extend and deepen your knowledge and skills by building on attainment gained from undergraduate study in the computing field and to extend current information technology professionals in their career progression.

The programme builds on your existing information technology knowledge and skills through courses that research and apply that knowledge and those skills in an environment that combines project work, case studies, real-life simulations, and practical work experience.  It encourages flexibility, acknowledging the diversity of the IT environment and the diversity in student interest and needs.

The BVN program is designed for individuals wishing to become highly regarded industry professionals within the veterinary nursing sector.

As a graduate of the Bachelor of Veterinary Nursing you will:

• Place animal welfare at the forefront of every veterinary nursing task and procedure performed while also considering human and environmental factors;
• Integrate extensive knowledge and understanding of the professional, cultural, ethical and moral responsibilities of a veterinary nurse;
• Confidently apply advanced theoretical knowledge and skills in veterinary medical nursing, anaesthesia and surgical assistance in practice;
• Think and reflect critically to continuously improve animal well-being, their own practice and the industry as a whole;
• Proactively engage in continuous learning and undertake research to support evidence-based practice, solving complex problems in relation to patient care and health;
• Advise clients on the management of individual animal care based on contemporary evidence; and

The Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science (BSES) program is a full-time, three year program that offers stimulating degree studies, enabling you to become a highly regarded industry professional within the sport, health and exercise science sectors.

The program enables graduates to enter employment in the sport, exercise and recreation industry with a sound knowledge of:

• Anatomy and physiology
• Exercise and sport science
• Nutrition and health
• Sport coaching and psychology

• Research and professional practice skills

This program is designed to develop:

• Technical skills related to sport and exercise science
• Communication skills necessary for negotiation, coaching, scientific and management level presentations

• Professional skills which meet the needs of industry and society/communities, and that will enable you to continue to consolidate, apply and extend your knowledge

The Master of Wine Business and Innovation (MWBI) is a Level 9 program of 240 credits, completed by coursework, industry integrated project, or applied research.

The philosophy underpinning the Wine Business and Innovation suite of programs is to provide a breadth of knowledge and a business focus to those wanting to develop their skills and progress within the wine industry. The programs can serve as rigorous professional development for those already within the wine industry, and as an advanced level pathway into the industry for those in other areas.

Advance your knowledge and capability to meet the future needs of the national and global logistics and supply chain industry. The postgraduate program suite in logistics and supply chain management will prepare and upskill students for success in the industry. 

The postgraduate diploma enables employment of advancing conceptual and theoretical knowledge for application within the field of logistics and supply chain management. The program aims to produce graduates able to lead and develop effective strategies and operations management to optimise logistics and supply chain aspects of a business on a national and global basis. This would include warehouse planning, transport and distribution processes across logistics and supply chain networks.

The Master of Professional Creative Practice is a 180 credit program with full-time study for one and a half years at Level 9, consisting of four compulsory courses that provides you with the opportunity to create a body of creative work to a standard that develops, extends and refines prior professional practices, processes and knowledge. This will be done through research and critical evaluation to strengthen your creative practice while contextualizing your practice in relation to relevant communities, contemporary concepts, models theory, technologies and professional practice management techniques.

The Bachelor of Computing Systems (BCS) will equip you with foundation knowledge of computer hardware, networking communications and security, data and databases, information systems and IT management, systems analysis, design, and development, and internet and mobile technologies.

Depending on the stream of courses you select, you will develop the ability to design and implement high quality IT solutions within your specialisation, and apply the professional processes necessary to achieve successful outcomes for organisations.
