The Bachelor of Professional Creative Practice (Honours) programme is collaboratively offered by EIT’s two iconic creative practice schools: IDEAschool and Toihoukura. It offers a unique perspective from both the European and Maori creative culture allowing a wide selection of media to be advanced.

The Bachelor of Professional Creative Practice (Honours) provides the opportunity for you to gain a postgraduate qualification, create an effective and professional body of creative work, make it publicly available and speak professionally about that work based on in-depth and broad research.

The Bachelor of Computing Systems (BCS) will equip you with foundation knowledge of computer hardware, networking communications and security, data and databases, information systems and IT management, systems analysis, design, and development, and internet and mobile technologies.

Depending on the stream of courses you select, you will develop the ability to design and implement high quality IT solutions within your specialisation, and apply the professional processes necessary to achieve successful outcomes for organisations.

The BCS program equips graduates with the skills and practices to achieve entry-level IT positions to pursue a professional career in the industry. In particular, the program is designed to:

The Master of Health Science programme provides the opportunity for practitioners working in health and health-related fields to advance and expand their knowledge and expertise within an interdisciplinary learning environment. 

Courses are designed around knowledge and research relating to key threads of health disparities and the global health needs of populations. The program provides you with the opportunity to investigate the worldwide improvement of health, reduction of health disparities and protection against global threats from an international context.

The multidisciplinary and inter-professional context of health science involves everyone sharing discussions from their own experiences, enabling all practitioners to advance their knowledge of health treatment, care and prevention of disparities in a truly interdisciplinary sphere.

The New Zealand Diploma in Business is a stand-alone program providing a firm understanding of business in the New Zealand environment along with the most valuable attributes that are required in the modern business era. You’ll choose from two majors: accounting and leadership and management.

In particular, the program is designed to:

• Apply a broad range of business knowledge and skills as well as specialised knowledge and skills in selected fields of business.
• Be proactive to changes in the local, national and global business environment.
• Demonstrate business competencies including problem solving, decision-making, negotiating and using technology effectively.

The Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science (BSES) program is a full-time, three year program that offers stimulating degree studies, enabling you to become a highly regarded industry professional within the sport, health and exercise science sectors.

The program enables graduates to enter employment in the sport, exercise and recreation industry with a sound knowledge of:

• Anatomy and physiology
• Exercise and sport science
• Nutrition and health
• Sport coaching and psychology

This program is designed to develop:

• Technical skills related to sport and exercise science

This qualification is designed for creatives with broad knowledge and skills in art, design, music, fashion and screen production who wish to specialize in their selected area.

The creative industries and cultural sector in Aotearoa New Zealand will benefit from graduates who can critically analyze research findings, critically evaluate work, and present resolved work in a real-world context.

As a graduate you will be able to independently select and apply a range of processes in a specialized area of art, design, music, fashion and screen production.

Accounting Major
Graduating with an accounting major will enable you to undertake accountancy related work in the commercial and not-for-profit sectors. With appropriate course selections you will be able to meet the provisional admission requirements Chartered Accountant (CA) with either Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) or CPA Australia. The Program Coordinator can advise you on appropriate course selections.

Management Major
Typical opportunities after graduation include the areas of: human resources; operations management; or developing your own business.You will work initially in roles such as Team Leader, Functional Manager or Management Trainee, progressing to more senior positions with experience.

Marketing Major
Typical opportunities after graduation include work as a Marketing Manager, Sales Manager, Account Manager or Product Manager and progressing to more senior positions with experience.

The Master of Wine Business and Innovation (MWBI) is a Level 9 program of 240 credits, completed by coursework, industry integrated project, or applied research.

The philosophy underpinning the Wine Business and Innovation suite of programs is to provide a breadth of knowledge and a business focus to those wanting to develop their skills and progress within the wine industry. The programs can serve as rigorous professional development for those already within the wine industry, and as an advanced level pathway into the industry for those in other areas.

The BVN program is designed for individuals wishing to become highly regarded industry professionals within the veterinary nursing sector.

As a graduate of the Bachelor of Veterinary Nursing you will:

• Place animal welfare at the forefront of every veterinary nursing task and procedure performed while also considering human and environmental factors;
• Integrate extensive knowledge and understanding of the professional, cultural, ethical and moral responsibilities of a veterinary nurse;
• Confidently apply advanced theoretical knowledge and skills in veterinary medical nursing, anaesthesia and surgical assistance in practice;
• Think and reflect critically to continuously improve animal well-being, their own practice and the industry as a whole;
