The Bachelor of Professional Creative Practice (Honours) programme is collaboratively offered by EIT’s two iconic creative practice schools: IDEAschool and Toihoukura. It offers a unique perspective from both the European and Maori creative culture allowing a wide selection of media to be advanced.

The Bachelor of Professional Creative Practice (Honours) provides the opportunity for you to gain a postgraduate qualification, create an effective and professional body of creative work, make it publicly available and speak professionally about that work based on in-depth and broad research.

Advance your knowledge and capability to meet the future needs of the national and global logistics and supply chain industry. The postgraduate program suite in logistics and supply chain management will prepare and upskill students for success in the industry. 

The postgraduate diploma enables employment of advancing conceptual and theoretical knowledge for application within the field of logistics and supply chain management. The program aims to produce graduates able to lead and develop effective strategies and operations management to optimise logistics and supply chain aspects of a business on a national and global basis. This would include warehouse planning, transport and distribution processes across logistics and supply chain networks.

The MIT is a Level 9 programme with a minimum of 180 or 240 credits. It enables those who have completed a Bachelors’ degree in Information Technology/Computing to achieve a postgraduate level qualification in Information Technology.

The programme can be completed in two years (240 credits) or 18 months (180 credits) full-time or up to eight years part-time, depending on your previous study and experience and specific course preferences.  It is designed to extend and deepen your knowledge and skills by building on attainment gained from undergraduate study in the computing field and to extend current information technology professionals in their career progression.

The programme builds on your existing information technology knowledge and skills through courses that research and apply that knowledge and those skills in an environment that combines project work, case studies, real-life simulations, and practical work experience.  It encourages flexibility, acknowledging the diversity of the IT environment and the diversity in student interest and needs.

The program for cookery and professional chef training at EIT is full-time for two years which offers you stimulating studies and provides the opportunity to begin a career in the hospitality industry.

Formal work experience in industry is an important part of the program, providing valuable on-the-job training as well as building professional networks and experience.

This program incorporates two specialised streams to choose from:

• Patisserie: breads, pastries, desserts and cakes, includes City & Guilds Diploma in Patisserie.
• Cookery: global cuisine, modern cooking techniques, menu planning and costing, and charcuterie.

The Bachelor of Nursing (BN) is a full-time, three year program which offers you stimulating undergraduate degree level studies and provides a pathway to your professional qualification as a New Zealand registered nurse.

The BN program enables you to enter practice as a registered nurse with a sound knowledge base of nursing theory, social sciences, biological sciences, research and professional nursing practice skills. Theoretical and nursing practice experiences are balanced throughout the program.

This one year project-based program is designed for people wanting to gain craft skills and knowledge required to work in the screen industry. On this course you produce all your own work from conception to completion.

The program has been designed to give you as much “hands-on” experience with professional camera, sound and editing equipment as practical. We primarily use state-of-the-art digital cameras for recording images then edit those images on non-linear digital editing systems, as used in the professional industry.

This degree will give you a strong foundation in business and help you gain the skills today’s employers demand. You will benefit from a wide-ranging business education with plenty of practical experience, and you can choose to specialise in majors in:

• Accounting

• Marketing

Accounting Major
Graduating with an accounting major will enable you to undertake accountancy related work in the commercial and not-for-profit sectors. With appropriate course selections you will be able to meet the provisional admission requirements Chartered Accountant (CA) with either Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) or CPA Australia. The Program Coordinator can advise you on appropriate course selections.

Management Major
Typical opportunities after graduation include the areas of: human resources; operations management; or developing your own business.You will work initially in roles such as Team Leader, Functional Manager or Management Trainee, progressing to more senior positions with experience.

Marketing Major
Typical opportunities after graduation include work as a Marketing Manager, Sales Manager, Account Manager or Product Manager and progressing to more senior positions with experience.

The BVN program is designed for individuals wishing to become highly regarded industry professionals within the veterinary nursing sector.

As a graduate of the Bachelor of Veterinary Nursing you will:

• Place animal welfare at the forefront of every veterinary nursing task and procedure performed while also considering human and environmental factors;
• Integrate extensive knowledge and understanding of the professional, cultural, ethical and moral responsibilities of a veterinary nurse;
• Confidently apply advanced theoretical knowledge and skills in veterinary medical nursing, anaesthesia and surgical assistance in practice;
• Think and reflect critically to continuously improve animal well-being, their own practice and the industry as a whole;
• Proactively engage in continuous learning and undertake research to support evidence-based practice, solving complex problems in relation to patient care and health;
• Advise clients on the management of individual animal care based on contemporary evidence; and
• Recognise the need for and lead the development of strategies to deal with emotionally and otherwise stressful situations.

The Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science (BSES) program is a full-time, three year program that offers stimulating degree studies, enabling you to become a highly regarded industry professional within the sport, health and exercise science sectors.

The program enables graduates to enter employment in the sport, exercise and recreation industry with a sound knowledge of:

• Anatomy and physiology
• Exercise and sport science
• Nutrition and health
• Sport coaching and psychology
• Industry projects
• Research and professional practice skills

This program is designed to develop:

• Technical skills related to sport and exercise science
• Communication skills necessary for negotiation, coaching, scientific and management level presentations
• Research skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills necessary to evaluate new information, concepts and evidence from a range of sources
• Professional skills which meet the needs of industry and society/communities, and that will enable you to continue to consolidate, apply and extend your knowledge

The Graduate Diploma in Business is the ideal program for students looking to take the next step in their career or for those looking for a change. This program is suitable for students without previous qualifications in a business-related field who want to add a degree-level business qualification to their undergraduate subject area.
