The NZ Diploma in Architectural Technology offers you the opportunity to gain the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to become a productive member of an architectural design team. You will gain the practical knowledge to undertake the whole process of producing architectural drawings, from establishing a client’s requirements right through to submission of the final designs.

Graduates of this qualification will be able to:

• Apply comprehensive industry knowledge to evaluate design principles for small, medium and large building projects in a design, building or construction related environment.
• Carry out feasibility studies for small, medium and large buildings.
• Establish the clients’ requirements, develop and communicate a concept and building design, and prepare approval documentation for a building project in accordance with a clients’ brief.
• Evaluate the performance of and select materials and finishes to be used in the building process.
• Prepare, organise and present architectural working drawings for small and medium buildings using manual and digital technologies in accordance with the statutory and regulatory environment.
• Understand the roles, documentation and administrative requirements of the construction industry, apply this knowledge and assist senior personnel through the tender process.

The PGDipIT is a one year Level 8 full-time programme with a minimum of 120 credits. It enables those who have completed a computing degree to achieve a postgraduate level qualification in information technology.

Those who wish to progress from the PGDipIT to the MIT will need to complete eight courses (120 credits) at Level 8.

The programme can be completed in one year full-time or up to four years part-time, depending on your previous study and experience and specific course preferences. It can act as an entry point into the masters degree if you do not initially meet the entry requirement and need to demonstrate your ability to study at a postgraduate level. Alternatively, if you initially enrolled in the masters degree and are not in a position to complete it, you can transfer any applicable courses to the postgraduate diploma for the purposes of qualification completion.

The Bachelor of Computing Systems (BCS) will equip you with foundation knowledge of computer hardware, networking communications and security, data and databases, information systems and IT management, systems analysis, design, and development, and internet and mobile technologies.

Depending on the stream of courses you select, you will develop the ability to design and implement high quality IT solutions within your specialisation, and apply the professional processes necessary to achieve successful outcomes for organisations.

The Master of Nursing Science is a 180-credit program which enables registered nurses to further develop their knowledge and skills for professional practice.

As a graduate of the program you will be equipped with expanded nursing knowledge, refined skills for evidence-based practice, and enhanced clinical judgment and research skills which will enable you to deliver advanced nursing practice, nursing education and leadership.

Graduating with an accounting major will enable you to undertake accountancy related work in the commercial and not-for-profit sectors. With appropriate course selections you will be able to meet the provisional admission requirements Chartered Accountant (CA) with either Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) or CPA Australia. The NZ Diploma in Sport, Recreation and Exercise is a one year full-time, or equivalent part-time, program which offers you stimulating studies and provides a pathway to a career in the wide field of recreation, sport and health. This program has close links with the Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science.

In particular, the program is designed to enable you to:

• Understand human body structure and function with emphasis on the musculo-skeletal system
• Develop knowledge and skills related to professional practice in the recreation and sport industry
• Understand the relationship between nutrition, physical activity and other personal health behaviours and health
• Develop knowledge of a range of sporting and recreational activities through practical experience and active participation
• Understand the sport and recreation industry in New Zealand
• Design and apply group exercise programs
• Assess physical performance, apply exercise techniques and design exercise for people with special needs

The Master of Wine Business and Innovation (MWBI) is a Level 9 program of 240 credits, completed by coursework, industry integrated project, or applied research.

The philosophy underpinning the Wine Business and Innovation suite of programs is to provide a breadth of knowledge and a business focus to those wanting to develop their skills and progress within the wine industry.
