The Postgraduate Diploma in Health Science offers two pathways, one for nurses and one for health scientists. The Diploma offers a selection of online and blended courses designed to meet the needs of health practitioners, health sector managers and other professionals whose practice has a focus on health. The Postgraduate Diploma in Health Science may be completed with or without a specialty option.

Nursing specialty endorsement options available are:

  • Advanced Nursing Practice
  • Registered Nurse Prescribing (approved by the Nursing Council of New Zealand)

All international students who accept an offer of place for this Postgraduate Diploma or Masters program will receive the postgraduate scholarship.

Graduating with an accounting major will enable you to undertake accountancy related work in the commercial and not-for-profit sectors. With appropriate course selections you will be able to meet the provisional admission requirements Chartered Accountant (CA) with either Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) or CPA Australia. The Program Coordinator can advise you on appropriate course selections.

Management Major

The Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) supports individuals to become competent social work practitioners within their communities. It enables students to apply for professional registration to be a social worker practitioner in Aotearoa/New Zealand. 

Students will develop the understanding, personal attributes, knowledge and skills needed to be competent social workers in a range of fields, some of which include, family work, health and education, child protection, drug and alcohol, family violence, working with probation and youth services.

The objective of this program is to produce graduates who:

  • Are empathic, non-judgmental, respectful, resilient and self-aware; and demonstrate integrity, authenticity and professionalism.
  • Take a critical, reflective approach to social work practice that includes the use of supervision, continuing professional development, on-going learning and personal wellbeing.

The PGDipIT is a one year Level 8 full-time programme with a minimum of 120 credits. It enables those who have completed a computing degree to achieve a postgraduate level qualification in information technology.

Those who wish to progress from the PGDipIT to the MIT will need to complete eight courses (120 credits) at Level 8.

The programme can be completed in one year full-time or up to four years part-time, depending on your previous study and experience and specific course preferences. It can act as an entry point into the masters degree if you do not initially meet the entry requirement and need to demonstrate your ability to study at a postgraduate level. Alternatively, if you initially enrolled in the masters degree and are not in a position to complete it, you can transfer any applicable courses to the postgraduate diploma for the purposes of qualification completion.
