Massey University's Bachelor of Business (Property) will give you an introduction to a wide range of professional skills relevant to the industry. Molecular cell biology encompasses a hugely important area of study for the 21st century. It unifies many disciplines, ranging from cell biology, physiology and chemistry to computer science, and from patent law and medicine, to bioprotection and food production. It underpins many exciting and dynamic industries that are changing rapidly.

In the Bachelor of Science (Molecular Cell Biology) you will study the big questions of life:

Massey’s Bachelor of Science (Earth Science) will take you on a journey of understanding the processes that moulded our planet. From our landscapes to our geological resources and soils, it’s a huge area to cover, leading to fascinating and varied careers.

You’ll develop an appreciation of the immensity of geological time. You’ll graduate with cutting-edge skills and the ability to predict future changes in the Earth’s surface such as natural disasters, climate change and water contamination.

Earth scientists are discovering hydrocarbon and mineral resources. They are establishing policy in resource management, environmental protection, public health, safety, and welfare.

The Graduate Diploma in Information Sciences (GradDipInfSc) is intended mainly for graduates in an unrelated area who are seeking to retrain or upskill in the information sciences.  Many of the students are studying via distance (online study) because they are working full time.

Massey is one of the few universities in New Zealand where your information sciences qualification covers all five disciplines of computer science, data science, information technology, information systems and software engineering.  Many graduates have found it really useful to complete the Graduate Diploma “with no endorsement”.  This means that you can select the courses you are most interested in from across the range of subjects.  You are strongly encouraged to select “no endorsement”.

You’ll learn a broad spectrum of skills from business management through to software development.  So you’ll emerge from your studies at Massey with a well-rounded understanding of the whole industry. You’ll gain the applied skills that you’ll need to become an excellent ICT professional.

The Graduate Diploma in Arts (Educational Psychology) is a bridging tool for graduates in other subjects to get the equivalent of a major in educational psychology. You can then go on to a postgraduate qualification in educational psychology if you wish. A graduate diploma in psychology will equip you with valuable transferable skills. This includes research, analysis, communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

The Graduate Diploma in Arts (Media Studies) will give you the equivalent of an undergraduate major in media studies without completing a second bachelor’s degree. Interested in television and popular culture? Social media and the blogosphere? Film and cultural theory? Media studies can help you unlock your creative potential and develop practical skills to excel in your career. The Graduate Diploma in Arts (Media Studies) is a bridging tool for graduates in other subjects to get the equivalent of a major in media studies.

Epidemiology is the science concerned with study patterns of health and disease in different populations, or groups. If you are interested in a postgraduate programme that is predominantly taught, a postgraduate diploma may be right for you.

The Postgraduate Diploma in Veterinary Science is for who have been able to demonstrate extensive practical, professional, or scholarly experience of an appropriate kind.

You will learn the processes and disciplines involved in high-level in-depth research and how to apply them to business. You will complete and present a comprehensive written report on an independent research topic.

The Master of Business Studies will also develop your oral and written communication skills to the level expected of senior business leaders.

Chemical and bioprocess engineering is the industrial processing of raw materials to higher value products through combinations of physical, chemical or biochemical action. These processes can be very diverse. Chemical and bioprocess engineers design, optimise and operate these processes.

Examples include:

• fermentation of sugars to alcohol
• production of pharmaceutical products
• extraction of high value compounds
• composting of organic waste
• conversion of milk solids to dairy ingredients
• conversion of wood into paper
• production of fuels from waste streams.

The Bachelor of Engineering with Honours (Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering) will equip you with core chemical engineering skills for more traditional industries (oil, gas)

This 120-credit qualification acknowledges and recognises that having significant aviation experience has real value.
