Molecular cell biology encompasses a hugely important area of study for the 21st century. It unifies many disciplines, ranging from cell biology, physiology and chemistry to computer science, and from patent law and medicine, to bioprotection and food production. It underpins many exciting and dynamic industries that are changing rapidly.

In the Bachelor of Science (Molecular Cell Biology) you will study the big questions of life:

• How are organisms related and how does evolution work at a molecular level?
• Why do diseases or disorders develop and how can we treat them?
• How can we create better medicines and more efficient agriculture?

Psychology explores the thoughts, feelings and actions of individuals and groups in a social and cultural context. The goal of psychology is to understand, describe and predict behaviour. Psychology is the systematic study of behaviour, cognition and experience. It is a social science dealing with emotions and individual differences. You’ll learn about behaviour and relationships in social and cultural contexts. Psychology is also a biological science. It examines the neurophysiological, basis of learning and performance, as well as sensory and perceptual skills. As a profession, psychology is dedicated to the promotion of human welfare.

A Massey Graduate Diploma in Arts (Classical Studies) is a way for graduates in other subjects to get the equivalent of a major in classical studies.

The Graduate Diploma in Information Sciences (GradDipInfSc) is intended mainly for graduates in an unrelated area who are seeking to retrain or upskill in the information sciences.  Many of the students are studying via distance (online study) because they are working full time.

Massey is one of the few universities in New Zealand where your information sciences qualification covers all five disciplines of computer science, data science, information technology, information systems and software engineering.  Many graduates have found it really useful to complete the Graduate Diploma “with no endorsement”.  This means that you can select the courses you are most interested in from across the range of subjects.  You are strongly encouraged to select “no endorsement”.

You’ll learn a broad spectrum of skills from business management through to software development.  So you’ll emerge from your studies at Massey with a well-rounded understanding of the whole industry. You’ll gain the applied skills that you’ll need to become an excellent ICT professional.
